Optimization Support

Objective

The objective of this document is to provide a self-explanatory document which helps optimization engineers to have a clear understanding of KPIs, the related counters, sub-counters along with the formula. Knowledge of these definitions will assist them not only to monitor the trend of network but also to dig into the cause-and-effect behavior of it and make optimizing decisions where necessary.

General guidelines

⇒ The KPIs are sequenced as it is in the pivot list of KPI tool. ⇒ Each KPI is defined first and then followed by general formula, detailed formula

& counter & sub-counter description. ⇒ The sub-counters are sometimes all selected or sometimes individually selected in

the following manner: COUNTERNAME_1_10= the sum of all sub-counters starting from 1 to 10 COUNTERNAME_1&10= the sum of sub-counters 1 & 10 only ⇒ If any counter(having several sub-counters) is not suffixed by sub-counter, it

means sum of all sub-counter values. ⇒ For sub-counter description refer to the appendix at the end of this document

terms: FR= Full Rate

HR= Half Rate

Outer area (900 MHz service) = O as suffix for concentric cells and two sub

Inner area (1800 MHz service) = I as suffix -counters summed

For standard cells= no suffix and one sub-counter counted
