The Importance of KP Ayanamsa in Applied KP Prediction

    Prof. Andrew Dutta

I have not failed. I have just found

    10,000 ways that dont work.

    Thomas A. Edisson

It gives me immense pleasure in authoring this article for the inaugural issue of KP E-

magazine edited by a scholarly KP professional, Shri Kanak Bhai Bosmia, ho is ell knon

in India and abroad for his astoundingly correct predictions using the Krishnamurthi Paddhati

!KP" astrology# In fact, the launch of this electronic magazine for KP astrology ill, perhaps,

be the first of its kind in this branch of astrology in the orld# $y best ishes are ith the

    editor and this scholarly %ournal#

&he role of 'yanamsa in applied prediction can hardly be over emphasized# &his

article is not an attempt to advocate any particular 'yanamsa, since e are all aare that the

'yanamsa given by our revered (uru%i late Shri K# S# Krishnamurthi !KSK" is a very

important ingredient for using his system of astrology# &he Krishnamurthi Paddhati ould not

yield correct results if one ere to use any other 'yanamsa, namely )ahiri, Bhasin, Sanatana,

or *aman# +or correct prediction through KP astrology e invariably need the 'yanamsa

suggested by Shri KSK, hich he arrived at after decades of painstaking research# In his +irst

*eader, Shri KSK spent over pages in discussing the role of 'yanamsa and his e.position

on this matter leaves no room for doubt that the 'yanamsa suggested by him for /th 'pril,

    011, taking the Epoch year as 20 '3, as 22 3eg 22 $in 41 Secs !KP 5 'strology

6earbook, 21147 pp 02-04" ould yield consistent results ith the precision rate per second

per year as /1# 24889:/ seconds !also knon as ;ecomb

KP astrology have taken a different Epoch year and arrived at an 'yanamsa hich is different

by about 9 mins 99 seconds# &his 'yanamsa is popularly knon as the KP Straight )ine

'd%usted 'yanamsa# 's a result of this correction rate, the 'yanamsa value for the same date

    as above turned out to be 22 3eg 2: $in 9 Secs thereby giving a difference of 9 $ins 99

Secs# &hough this may appear to be a minor difference, practitioners and researchers in the

field of KP are ell aare that this so called >minor< difference can cause the entire

    prediction to go hayire#

Before I cite a case e.ample to illustrate the importance of 'yanamsa, let me briefly

    elucidate the concept of 'yanamsa# &he ord >'yan< means movement# &herefore, >Sha

'yan< means moving position or ith-'yan hereas, >;ir- ah 'yan< means static position or

ithout 'yan# &his gives rise to the Sayana zodiac !the moving zodiac" of ?estern astrology

and the ;irayan zodiac !fi.ed or sidereal zodiac" of Indian astrology# &he 'yanamsa value is

the distance beteen the =indu first point and the @ernal EAuino., measured at an Epoch#

@ernal EAuino. refers to one of the to points that arise due to the intersection of the celestial

eAuator and the ecliptic or the apparent path of Sun# &hus, the difference in values for the

various 'yanamsas occurs due to the different Epoch years that are considered as the dates of

coincidence of the to zodiacs# ' number of Epochs ere used by researchers and scholars

    such as 4 '3, 409 '3, 40: '3, 908 '3 //0 '3 etc# ?e are all aare that in KP astrology

the smallest sub-division arc of a constellation is of a value of 9 mins# &his belongs to Sun#

&herefore, any difference in the 'yanamsa values greater than 9 mins ould alter the sublord

    of a planet and cusp#

In the e.ample belo, I provide a case e.ample here the choice of a particular

'yanamsa yielded different results# &his case is not an e.ample to advocate any particular

'yanamsa value but a simple illustration that 'yanamsa plays a very important role in

prediction# It is up to the ise discretion of the readers to find out the 'yanamsa value that

    yield consistent results to them#

n 29th;ovember, 211 a lady approached me to kno hether her husband ould

get an intervie call from a reputed educational institution# &he Auestion put forth as, Cill

my husband get a call for the intervie at B$'D She gave 21 as the horary number ithin

-290# I analyzed the chart on the same day at 8F48F12 P$ in =yderabad using (eocentric

latitude correction and KP Straight )ine 'd%usted 'yanamsa value of 24 3eg / $ins 41

&he cusps used for arriving at the prediction ere 4, 0, and thcusps from :th, hich

means cusps 0, 4, and / respectively# &he $oon of the unrotated chart reflected the Auery by

signifying houses 4 at planet level, : at Starlord level and / at the sublord level# &he other

signification of $oonG1, 2, , and 9Gdenoted that the husband of the Auerist as seeking

a change in the %ob due to increase in post and pay not due to any problem in the orkplace#

&he lady confirmed this# In the rotated chart, the :thcusp sublord @enus denoted 1, , and 4,

4rdcusp sublord Hupiter denoted 4 and 0, 0 thcusp sublord Hupiter denoted 4 and 0 and the th

cusp sublord $oon denoted 4# So, the call for the intervie as definitely to be received by

    the husband of the Auerist#

&he time for receiving the call for the intervie as arrived after taking the help of

*uling Planets at the time of %udgment# &he )agna as ruled by $ercury-Hupiter-Saturn and

the $oon as ruled by Hupiter-@enus-Saturn# &he fruitful significators ere considered as

    @enus, $ercury, Hupiter and Saturn# &he running 3asa-Bhukti-'nthara !3B'" as that of

@enus-Saturn-$ercury# 'll these planets ere in the list of fruitful significators# I decided

that the matter has to come out during Hupiter Sookshma period#

It as found that @enus-Saturn-$ercury-Hupiter period operated from 41 th3ecember

211: to 2stHanuary 211:# &he lady as informed that her husband ould be receiving a call

    during this period#

=oever, the call as actually received on /th3ecember 211 and the lady as more

than pleased at me for telling her that her husband ould be receiving the intervie call# But

I as totally displeased at my rong timing# pon discussing this matter ith some senior

KP astrologers of =yderabad, I as told to look at the same prognosis using the KP ld

'yanamsa# ?ith this input, I re-casted the horary chart ith the 'yanamsa value of 24 3eg /

$ins 9: Secs# &he chart is provided in the ne.t page# &here is no change in the sub lordship

of any cusps or planets e.cept the +ortuna# =oever, the longitude of $oon and other planets

have changed along ith the longitudes of the 2 cusps#

    /

    6/6

&herefore, a change in the longitude of $oon due to the change in the value of

'yanamsa gave different timings of the 3asa balance# It as found that the same @enus 3asa,

Saturn Bhukti, $ercury 'nthara and Hupiter Sookshma operated during : th;ovember 211

to 0th3ecember 211# Since, the analysis as done on 29 th;ovember 211, it as clear that

the result ould have occurred beteen 2/th;ovember 211 to 0th3ecember 211#

&o conclude, therefore, I ould like to say that in the above case e.ample, using KP

ld 'yanamsa brought us into the actual period of fructification of results# &he choice the

fruitful significators gave us the 3B'S but the timing of this 3B'S changed due to different

values of the 'yanamsa# &hough there as no change in the sub lordship of the 2 cusps and

0 planets in this case, it may definitely happen hen the degrees rising on the various cusps

are near their transition# 'nd in such situation, the entire analysis may go rong because the

fundamental premise of KP astrology depends upon the planetary lordship of the cusps and

planets# I conclude this article ith best ishes to the editor of this electronic magazine#
