KONE EcoDisc®

Proven Technology

• More than 10 years of experience with

EcoDisc technology, including the first

Machine Room-Less (MRL) installation

• Over 200,000 MRL installations worldwide

• Applicable from 2 to 100+ floors

Eco-efficient™

• The EcoDisc consumes 50% less

energy than a traction application

• The EcoDisc consumes 70% less

energy than hydraulic applications

• Energy savings:• 4000 kWh/year compared to hydraulic

elevator • 2000 kWh/year compared to traction

2-speed elevator

• Carbon footprint reduction:

(based on OECD electrical energy mix*)

• 4938 lb (2240 kg) CO2/year

compared to hydraulic elevator • 2469 lb (1120 kg) CO2/year

compared to traction 2-speed elevator

EcoDisc Applications• Regenerative Drive systems are available

on certain applications and alone can

recover up to 25% of the energy used

Performance

• Gearless traction performance from the

lowest to highest speeds and loads

• No geared traction, no hydraulics

MRL Solutions

• Rail-supported EcoDisc hoisting machine

• Minimal building interface

• Low-rise EcoSpace™ solution which fits in

a hydraulic hoistway

• Mid-rise MonoSpace® solution for

applications up to 230' (70 m) of travel

Space Savings

• In low- to mid-rise elevators, the compact

EcoDisc structure eliminates the traditional

machine room

• In high-rise and speed systems, EcoDisc

offers remarkable space savings

Space EfficiencyPossibility to accommodate reduced headroomheight and pit depth. The KONE EcoDisc machine is so compact there is no need for a machine room above, as it fits right intothe hoistway.

Energy-efficient

The revolutionary gearless KONE EcoDisc machine has only one moving part and is three times more efficient than a hydraulic-powered unit using 70% less energy – with the potential to cut annual operating costs in half orbetter – a true energy miracle.

Minimal DisruptionEcoSpace EB fits inside the existing hydraulic hoistway, minimizing the need for modifications.

Reusable EntrancesKONE EcoSpace EB reduces significant structural modifications by seamlessly interfacing withmost existing hydraulic entrances.

Modern, Code-compliantModern, simple and code-compliant operatingdisplays.

High PerformanceOptimal stopping accuracy for a smooth ride.

No OilThe hydraulic cylinder is drained of all oil and capped, ensuring oil free, environmentally-friendly operation.

KONE EcoSpace is also applicable for

existing buildings with hydraulic elevators.

This turnkey solution replaces the hydraulic

system with innovative MRL technology.

Why Replace?

Instead of replacing your old elevators with

similar technology, KONE offers you a new

choice. Our innovative Machine Room-Less

design is the first turnkey full replacement

elevator solution for existing hydraulic

elevators. Thanks to the revolutionary KONE

EcoDisc motor, EcoSpace EB fits into the

existing hydraulic hoistway with capability

to seamlessly interface with your existing

entrances.

KONE has sold over 200,000 Machine

Room-Less elevators globally, with an

excellent record of operating reliability.

So, instead of complicated, lengthy and

expensive retrofit upgrades, KONE provides

a brand new elevator.

• Everything from the site survey to the

dismantling of the existing equipment is

carefully thought out in order to minimizedisruption to your building.

• Our optimized maintenance program

minimizes downtime and ensures safe

and reliable lifetime operation.

EcoSpace EB Advantages

• For the owner: Minimized building

disruption, increased property value,

accommodates reduced pit depth

and overhead
