    FOREWORD 131

document "KOC Recommended Practice for the Protection of KOC Clearance Requirements for Buried Pipelines, Cables, Underground Structures, Buildings and Housing Projects (Rev.3)", was revised to remove some ambiguities and duplications from of this RP I final publication of "KOC RP for Plant Layout (KOC-L-028)" has amended as per comment from KOC Insp. & (N&WK) in Dec. '10. 131 It is intended to basic technical information for providing protection clearance requirements between various services to minimize adverse effects

corrosion and improve mechanical integrity I as well as to ensure safe working environment for personnel and property. Refer to KOC-L-028 the minimum 1 recommended for plant layout within and

    etc.

This (KOC-L-002), 3, shall supersede its Rev. 2 including previous KOC Standards 381/13 Part-3 "Clearances between buried pipelines, cables and underground structures" and 381/26 "Working clearances for hydrocarbon lines in valve pits/l, which were already withdrawn during publication of 2 of this RP.

This RP does not address the Fibre Optics Cable Networks; and it also specifically spacing between submarine pipelines 1cables.

This RP sets out to following

    1. Provide technical guidance, and recommend minimum clearance between buried pipelines, piping, cables, underground structures; and spacing from buildings and housing projects for developing project specifications, with a view to fulfil KOC objectives of HSE requirements as as to uniformity, quality and reliability in an economical manner.

    2. Recommend working space for pipelines and piping in valve pits.

    3. Recommend minimum spacing required between pipelines for safer and effective maintenance & operation.

Recommend minimum spacing requirements of housing projects and buildings 1 structures from hydrocarbon pipeline corridors and 1 or oil and gas well-heads.

Feedback as well as any comments I suggestions or enquiries to the application of

this Recommended Practice are encouraged and should be directed to:
