How to Repackage the Presentation Server Client for 32-bit Windows Microsoft Installer Package Document ID: CTX112961 / Created On: 11-mag-2007 / Updated On: 4-set-2007 Average Rating: View products this document applies to Summary This article describes how to repackage the Presentation Server Client for 32-bit Windows Microsoft Installer (MSI) package. Requirements The procedure described in this article only works on the full Presentation Server Client MSI package (ica32pkg.msi). It does not work with the Web Client MSI package (ica32web.msi). The Presentation Server Client version 10.0 MSI includes the following supported localized language interfaces: German, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. If you intend to deploy a customized Presentation Server Client package with any of the above supported language interfaces, complete the procedure described below on a system running a matching operating system language. For example: To deploy a customized Presentation Server Client with a Japanese interface to a Japanese Windows XP system, complete the procedure described below on a Japanese Windows XP system. However, if you wanted to deploy a customized Presentation Server Client with an English interface to a Japanese Windows XP system, complete the procedure described below on an English Windows XP system. If you want to deploy a customized Presentation Server Client to a system with a language interface that is not officially supported, complete the procedure described below on an English system. Known Issue If you click the Modify option for the Presentation Server Client in Add or Remove Programs to either Modify, Repair, or Remove, the uninstall process fails to proceed further after clicking the Next button. This issue occurs on a Windows system with a repackaged Presentation Server Client (10.0 or 10.1) installed that has one or more user dialog boxes hidden (that is, “Splash Screen” is hidden during the installation. See Step 12 below). To uninstall the client: Click the Remove option on Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel. -Or- Issue the following command: msiexec.exe /uninstall ica32pkg.msi To work around this issue, a private MSI transform file is available for use along with a repackaged ica32pkg.msi file. However, you must uninstall and reinstall the client with the transform file on the system with the existing repackaged Presentation Server Client. This issue will be addressed in an upcoming release of the Presentation Server Client 10.150 MSI package. If you wish to obtain the transform file to work around this issue, contact Citrix Technical Support and refer to CPR 166978. Summary

This article describes how to repackage the Presentation Server Client for 32-bit Windows Microsoft Installer (MSI) package.

Requirements

The procedure described in this article only works on the full Presentation Server Client MSI package (ica32pkg.msi).

For example:

To deploy a customized Presentation Server Client with a Japanese interface to a Japanese Windows XP system, complete the procedure described below on a Japanese Windows XP system.

Known Issue

If you click the Modify option for the Presentation Server Client in Add or Remove Programs to either Modify , Repair , or Remove , the uninstall process fails to proceed further after clicking the Next button. This issue occurs on a Windows system with a repackaged Presentation Server Client (10.0 or 10.1) installed that has one or more user dialog boxes hidden (that is, “Splash Screen” is hidden during the installation. See Step 12 below).

To uninstall the client:

Click the Remove option on Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

-Or-

Issue the following command:

msiexec.exe /uninstall ica32pkg.msi

To work around this issue, a private MSI transform file is available for use along with a repackaged ica32pkg.msi file.
