Stitch holder, stitch markers (2), yarn needle, 4 buttons 7 /8” diameter (model shown JHB). GAUGE: 8 sts = 4”; 12 rows = 4” in St st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge. NOTE Vest is worked in one piece to the armholes, then divided to complete fronts and back separately . Work in Mock rib for 2”, end by working a wrong side row. Begin with a k row, work in St st until piece measures 6½ (6½, 7, 7)” from beginning, end by working a wrong side row. Divide for Fronts and Back Work across rst 9 (10, 10, 11) sts for right front; place remaining 36 (37, 39, 40) sts on stitch holder. Back Slip next 24 (24, 26, 26) sts from holder onto needle for back and attach yarn to right side. Shape Armholes Bind off rst 3 sts for armhole edge, work to end of row –21 (21, 23, 23) sts. Dec 1 st at beginni ng and end of next 3 rows–15 (15, 17, 17) sts. Work even until armhole measures 5 (5½, 5½, 6)” from beginning, end by working a wrong side row. Bind off.
