As we begin the solemn season of Lent let us remember that The English word “Lent” comes from the Anglo–Saxon word lencten, which means “lengthen” and refers to the lengthening days of "spring.". This means that spring is near and the sound of snow pants and wet boots will soon be a thing of the past. All of us at STA are looking for- ward to some warmer weather because we have lots to look forward to (the weekly Lenten Fish Fry is at the top of my list). March 9 th , two of our 8 th grade boys (Ayden Boho and Adam Burazin) are playing in their second game in the Padre Serra Tournament (Saturday 5:45pm at Mount Mary). March 16 th is our annual Wild Game Dinner hosted by the Athletic Associa- tion. We are looking forward to seeing many old faces as well as many new faces. Our families (past, present and future) work very hard to make this event a night full of smiles and food, lots of food. Thank you in advance to all of our volunteers that help make this night a success. I would also like to recognize our STA alumni for making a great presence on the WUHS and Catholic Central “A” and “B” Honor Roll for the 1 st Semes- ter (see page 3 ) 3/6 Ash Wednesday 3/7 School Commit- tee 6:30pm 3/8 Parish Fish Fry 3/9 First Communion Retreat 3/10 Family Mass (4K/5K) 3/12 Stations of the Cross 10am 3/12 7th & 8th grade to library 3/13 Shrek (grades 5-8) 3/13 Home and School Mtng 6:30pm 3/15 Vision/Hearing Screening 3/15 Parish Fish Fry 3/16 Wild Game Dinner 3/20 5th & 6th to library 3/22 End 3rd Quarter 3/22 Knights of Hon- or Assembly 11:15 3/22 11:45 Release/ Parent Pick-up 3/22 Parish Fish Fry 3/25-29 Spring Break ~ Disciples Seek Reconciliation~ *************************************************** See Attachments: March 6, 2019 ISSUE 106 www.saintthomaswaterford.org St. Thomas Aquinas School, serving the community of Waterford since 1851, develops 21st century learners as disciples of Jesus Christ through learning, living, and sharing the Love of God.
