Vol. XLVIII No. 11 & 12
Knight and Family of the Month Awards
Knight of the Month Awards This Past Grand Knight and former District Deputy has been a proud member of our Order since 1984. Besides having served as a Trustee he has amassed many volunteer hours during our Toot-sie Roll Drives, Fish Fry events, Cards/Games So-cial and as the A & P Club coordinator at OLGH where he also serves as a Eucharistic minister and as a counting team supervisor. In recognition of his efforts on behalf of the Knights of Columbus, his par-ish, the Brown Deer and Riverwest communities, Council 6646 hereby honors Brother Robert Moran-ski as its Knight of the Month - November, 2015.
Throughout his 40 years as a Knight of Columbus this Charter Member has distinguished himself as a Knight in Action. As our third Grand Knight he made the initial contribution to what was then our building fund now known as the Charitable Investment Fund. His impressive number of volunteer hours covers all of our service programs over 4 decades. Appointed by Supreme Knight Carl Anderson he currently serves as our Financial Secretary. In recognition of his contributions to the cause of Columbianism and to St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish Council 6646 is pleased to honor Brother Ed Laskowski as its Knight of the Month - Decem-ber, 2015.
Family of the Month Awards
Each of our Council meetings opens with prayers including the Prayer for Vocations which asks our Heavenly Father to bless the church with an abun-dance of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters, and to give those called to the married state and those chosen to live as single persons in the world the special graces that their lives require.... United in marriage three score and nine years ago this couple exemplified this prayer. In apprecia-tion for their service to the Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 6646 is pleased to honor Deacon Michael Cesarec and his Lady Loyola as its Fam-ily of the Month - November, 2015.
In December we honor the Holy Family. Su-preme Chaplain Archbishop William E. Lori com-posed this prayer.
A Family Prayer Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of our family.
Enlighten our hearts and minds that we may live more fully this vocation to love.
In our daily life and work, may we reflect the self-giving love which You, O Father, eternally show with your Son
and the Holy spirit.
Let Your love be evident in the peace that reigns
in our homes and in the faith we profess and live. May our family always be a place of generosity,
understanding, forgiveness and joy.
Kindly give us the wisdom and courage
to be witnesses to Your eternal design for the family. Grant that the Holy Family of Nazareth may always
guide our path to holiness.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
Amen
Merry Christmas!

Long-Term Care Plans Offer Peace of Mind
Since its addition to the Order’s product portfolio in 2000, long-term care (LTC) insurance has provid-ed the Knights of Columbus with an excellent oppor-tunity to further serve members and their families. And, for our long-term care policy holders in the United States, there’s an added bonus. It’s called “Provider Pathway,” a program offering access to a network of long-term care providers at discounted rates. The network includes discounts on products, such as hearing aids, diabetic supplies, personal emergency response systems, and dura-ble medical equipment, as well as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and adult day care. Eligibility for participation in this program is open to Knights of Columbus long-term care insurance policyholders, their spouses, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law. All providers are fully credentialed and meet state licensing requirements. If you haven’t yet spoken with me about long-
term care insurance, you owe it to yourself to do so. Having a professionally trained Field Agent ― and a brother Knight you can trust ― to help guide you through the process is yet another valuable benefit that comes with your membership. Take advantage of it; contact me today. Fraternally,

Thanksgiving Prayer
FOR APPRECIATION OF EACH OTHER
We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your
Son who came to our earth and lived in a simple
home. We have a greater appreciation of the val-
ue and dignity of the human family because he
loved and was loved within its shelter. Bless us
this day; may we grow in love for each other in
our family and so give thanks to you who are the
maker of all human families and our abiding
peace.

Every Human Life is Worth Living
These words are a reminder that every human being is a unique, unrepeatable miracle created by God Himself.
The first self-evident human right that Thomas Jeffer-son articulates in the Declaration of Independence is the right to life. This truth simply makes sense. If I do not have the right to be born, the other rights are mean-ingless, because I will not be here to enjoy them. For the last 42 years, our country has lived with legal-ized abortion. A pregnant woman can unilaterally choose to end the new life within her. Painfully we know that many women who choose abortion are in the throes of a crisis, not knowing where to turn, pressured to make this decision, feeling there are no alternatives. We need to help them as effectively and generously as we can. We also need to ceaselessly work for the end of abortion in this country and around the world. If human life does not begin at conception, when does it begin? At three months or at six months? When the baby is born? Technology allows us to see with growing clarity the wonder of life in the womb. All of our genetic code and human potential is present at the moment of our conception. As Mother Teresa said, "A country that aborts its own children has no future."
Editor's note: Thanks to serendipity this portion of Bishop Don Hying's recent column was availa-ble. It should surprise no one that he has immersed himself in his Episcopal ministry in Gary, Indiana.

Surely all of us know Catholic men who are eligi-ble to join our Order. Help our council grow by sug-gesting candidates. Provide me with their names and contact information and I, along with our field Agent Pat LaPointe, will make them aware of the Order's many benefits. Without your support the proceeds from our fundraisers may prove inadequate for our commit-ment to CHARITY! This issue contains details about our annual Cards & Games Social, the De-cember 11th KC Fish Fry at OLGH, and the State Charity Raffle. Please cooperate with our Financial Secretary Ed Laskowski when you receive your Member-ship Dues Statement. Complete and return the Fra-ternal Survey of volunteer hours with your payment promptly. (The survey work sheet is on the back of the Cards/Games Social flyer.) I respectfully ask our LIFE MEMBERS to consid-er a donation to offset your dues waiver. As the years go by our General Fund barely covers our ordinary expenses. In closing I invite you to attend our Christmas Party at the Villa at Bradley Estates on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00PM. It's a great way to celebrate the holiday season. My Lady Marie and I wish you a Happy Thanks-giving and a Blessed Christmas.

I wanted to send a continued thank you for your support. I just returned from a 6-week course in Eu-rope called the "Rome Experience." It included a 5 day retreat in Ars, France where the Cure of Ars, St. John Vianney is from and buried, as well as 4 weeks in Rome learning about the Church, scripture, art, architecture, and the spiritual life. I continue my trav-els later this summer with a two week trip to the Do-minican Republic at the Archdiocesan sister parish, Sagrada Familia. Thank you for all you do in support of vocations.
Yours in Christ, Andrew Infanger

40 Years and Counting
Forty-seven Brother Knights, Ladies and guests enjoyed Knights of Columbus Council 6646's 40th Anniversary Dinner at Klemmer's Banquet Hall on Saturday, September 19th, 2015. This event cele-brated our charitable efforts as a Catholic fraterni-ty. Memories were shared and even a few tears were shed on this memorable occasion. Grand Knight Lary Brushafer presided over the ceremonies attended by former State Deputy and current Ceremonials Director Roland Ransom II and District Deputy Tom Hogan. The Council was espe-cially honored to have William Arnold, a Seminarian at St. Francis Seminary, attend and deliver the pray-er before dinner. Phil McCarthy and Peter Schulteis each spoke about the history of the Council. Mr. McCarthy, a Charter Member of Council 6646, spoke of several Knights who were instrumental in chartering the Council from the summer of 1974 through January 1975 - Fr. Arthur Baertlein, Jim Morgan, Ed Steic, Al Ostrenga and Jack Oliva, who was State of Wiscon-sin Membership Chair at the time, were crucial to getting the Council started. In order to obtain the required number of 30 members, Field Agent Ed Hughes joined Council 6646. Mr. McCarthy noted that the highlight of the first twenty years was the 15 Star Council Awards that were earned during that time. Peter Schulteis, Medallion Award winner, covered the years 1995 through 2015 and spoke about the Charter Members and Past Grand Knights present at the dinner: Ed Laskowski Peter Schulteis

Among our council’s many traditions is a holiday visit to the Villa at Bradley Estates located at 6735 N. Bradley Rd. On Saturday, December 12th at 2 PM Brother Knights, Ladies and family members along with accompanist Brother Kurt Worden will entertain the residents with holiday songs guaran-teed to evoke memories of past Christmas celebra-tions. mented our council's impressive history of service programs and its many charitable endeavors. He pledged his support in the years ahead. Past State Deputy and Former Eastern Master Roland Ransom was equally gracious in his re-marks. He cited our council's recognition to the cause of Columbiansim by the Supreme Council and the Wisconsin State Council. As State Ceremonials Director he greatly appreciates the efforts of the members of our First and Second Degree Team. In his closing remarks, GK Lary Brushafer an-nounced the dates and times of coming events, thanked all in attendance, and invited Seminarian Will Arnold to lead a prayer for Pope Francis. It was indeed a joyful occasion!
