kadampa meditation center new yorkKadampa Meditation Center New York (KMC NY) is the national center for the New Kadampa Tradition in the United States. Located on 82 acres of lush woodland in the colorful Upper Delaware River Valley, it is the perfect place for enjoying inner peace.

Visitors from all backgrounds come here to find rest and refuge from the challenges of busy daily life and to be inspired by spiritual friends of all ages, including monks and nuns.

our templeOne of three traditional Kadampa Temples in the world, our beautiful World Peace Temple, arose from the pure vision of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as part of the International Temples Project (ITP) and the joyful dedication of many volunteers. The Temple is host to a number of local, national and international events every year and is open everyday for visitors.

everyone is welcome

our traditionThe New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) is a Mahayana Buddhist Tradition founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This living spiritual tradition is based on the 2600 year old teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni, following the lineage held by the renowned Buddhist meditators and scholars, Atisha (AD 982-1054) and Je Tsongkhapa (AD 1357-1419). Kadampa Buddhism teaches us to regard all of Buddha’s teachings as personal advice that we put into practice in our everyday life. In this way we can solve the problems we face in modern life through the simple, scientific methods taught by Buddha and begin to experience true inner peace.

The New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) is an international association of study and meditation centers that follow the practices of the New Kadampa Tradition. The NKT-IKBU is now a global spiritual family with more than a thousand meditation centers and groups in forty countries around the world.
