The first impression is always very important. Without doubt, an aesthetic and attractive smile is the key to ensuring a successful impression. An aesthetically satisfactory smile allows you to excite people’s interest easily and provides people to have a positive approach towards you. The site surrounded by upper lip and lower lip is qualified to be the smiling area. Within this border, there are teeth and gingiva. The aesthetic of this area is determined with the harmony among lips, teeth and gingiva. Having alone nice lips or big bright and white teeth does not mean having a nice smile. A nice smile is obtained where nice lips are supported with healthy and aesthetic teeth surrounded by healthy gingiva.

A natural look is the most important element of a balanced smile. For us, smile design is to be able to obtain the most aesthetic and natural smile specific to person by avoiding standardized smiles. Assessment of smile and smile design generally depend on the balance between two concepts contradicting with each other. One of these concepts is the aesthetic requests and expectations of patient and doctor and the other is the anatomical and physical limitations of patient. Requests and expectations may not match up with personal limitations at all times. Therefore, while making the smile design, the balance between these concepts should be kept. Smile design ensures a private smile of his/her patients to be obtained with an interdisciplinary approach of a doctor in terms of a multi-factor decision mechanism.

COSMETICDENTISTRY

Bleaching is the procedure of whitening the discolorations that are not possible to remove via cleaning teeth and the result by teeth’s own structure. By means of bleaching, one may see bleaching up to 2-3 shades on teeth. There are 2 types of bleaching as office type and home type. Office type bleaching is applied by dentist in the clinic and may be repeated during 2-3 sessions depending on the patient.

In home type bleaching impression of maxilla and mandibula of patient is taken and translucent trays are prepared so that they will cover all teeth specific to the person. The patient wears the plaques at a certain time each day, applying the bleaching gel given by the doctor into the tray. The best result is the applications in which both methods are combined. The effect in bleaching procedure is on teeth only and one should assess each case separately as fillings and prosthetic restorations do not whiten. Depending on habits, bleaching procedure may revert by 20-30%. After a certain period of time (2-4 years), bleaching may be set by being reapplied.

Laminate veneers are porcelain or composite laminates applied in the front side, prepared by making minimal abrasion (approx. 0.5 mm) from front surfaces of teeth only and resembling to artificial nail. They have a highly aesthetic and natural appearance due to their luminous transmittance. They may be applied to those persons who are not content with the shape, color, sizes of their teeth, want to change their smile and do not definitely want to undergo orthodontic treatment in spite of crowding in their teeth. As laminate veneers are pasted onto tooth with a special bond, they do not fall off under chewing force and patient may use their chewing functions as before. After making abrasion on foreteeth, the laminate veneers are prepared by dental technician by taking the impressions of them and the treatment is finished at the end of a process of approx. 5-7 days. During the waiting period of these 5-7 days, the patient uses temporary teeth.

Also composite veneers are the restorations applied to anterior as in laminate porcelain veneers. This is a procedure which may be applied on crooked teeth that are broken or that are with defect in terms of their color, shape, appear-ance and position or if there are cavities between teeth. The advantage of composite veneers against laminate porcelain veneers is that not any abrasion is made on teeth in general or minimal abrasion is made. The disadvantage of them against laminate porcelain veneers is that they are of less resistant materials. However, patient may use them for many years so long as they are well maintained.

Composite veneers are applied in a single session. They have not any waiting period as in porcelain veneers.

This is the system where porcelain is fused to metal crowns in the substructure of the porcelain of which metal alloy is used. Porcelain fused to metal crowns may be used quite easily in partial tooth deficiencies or in cases where tooth tissue is insufficient for filling treatment and especially for the purpose of preventing tooth fracture which might occur on teeth to which root canal therapy has been applied.

Sufficient aesthetic outcomes cannot be obtained at all times due to less luminous transmittance of metal supported crowns. The phase of treatment is completed in approximately 1 week.

As an alternative to classical porcelain fused to metal crowns, zirconium crowns are the aesthetic systems that are used in posterior sites, in which zirconium alloy, which is a white color, is used instead of metal. The advantage of this system is that they are aesthetic and can be used in anterior teeth and they are resistant so as to be able to be used in posterior teeth. Thus, they provide the aesthetic need of patients in rear spaces and increase the life quality of the person. The treatment with zirconium crowns is completed in a process of approximately 7-10 days.

Dental implants are biocompatible titanium screws placed to jawbone for the purpose of providing the function, phonation aesthetic of tooth or teeth which is/are deficient.

When applied with correct diagnosis, sufficient information, experience and equipment, implants give perfect results in terms of the patient and doctor. Today there is no age limit for implant application; however, sufficient bone support is required.

Dental implants provide advantages compared to classical bridge prostheses without making any abrasion from adjacent teeth especially in individual tooth deficiencies and for protecting the bone in that site. They are an alternative to removable prosthesis in total or partial tooth deficiencies and increase the comfort and chewing function of the patient.

Total or partial prosthetic treatment is not preferred much today because of both chewing function and comfort reached thanks to the technology reached in dental applications of today. Today, implant application is preferred in individuals having lost all their upper-lower teeth or partial teeth.

Implants placed to jawbone and prostheses prepared with their support give patients the feeling as if they chew the food with their own teeth and are preferable for this reason.

If implant is inapplicable in our patient due to various health problems, total (complete) prosthesis or partial prosthesis is preferable. These kinds of prostheses are completed within a period of approximately 10 days.

In case bone is not sufficient for implant application; this is the procedure of placing bone prepared or taken from patient and augmenting the bone to surgical site where implant is to be applied.

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots placed surgically into the bone under sterile conditions, using local anesthesia in conditions where there are single or multiple missing tooth. Dental implants are the first and best option for tooth deficiencies.

This is the procedure of removal of cysts developing in the jawbone under local anesthesia or sedation and eliminating the existing defects using bone grafting techniques.

As in every area of medicine, preventive medicine has become important in dentistry today. Preventive dentistry is of great importance especially in children. A child should be acquainted with a dentist without having any problem yet.

Our mission is to give every patient a complete oral hygiene training to keep the healthy oral environment provided in our clinic.

For preventing food and microorganism accumulation on irregular surfaces of tooth and the caries, a special fluent filling material is used. It is suitable for the application in the period when first permanent teeth erupt in the mouth.

Topical fluoride application is a pain free and simple procedure which may be started after 3 years of age and should be repeated every 6 months thereafter. Topical fluoride is applied professionally by dentists in lacquer or gel form. Stored on the surface of teeth of your child at the end of this procedure, fluoride will make the teeth even healthier and more resistant against tooth caries.

Wireless Orthodontics treatment is the correction of dental perplexities and dental array disorders with particular intensity by means of privately designed, invisible and transparent plaques without using traditional metallic bands, brackets or wires.

In this system, almost-invisible and removable serial plaques are used. These plaques are replaced with the next batch in line once in two weeks. Each plaque is tailor made and produced specially for the patient’s teeth. The teeth attain their final positions, which are defined by your doctor, by moving and recovering gradually with each plaque alteration.

One of the best features of this system is not to use any traditional metallic bands, brackets or wires where food wastes and bacterial plaques can be held on. Since the apparatus, which are used in this treatment, are attachable and detachable, maintaining oral hygiene is easier than the other systems. Therefore, the risk of bacterial plaque deposition, tooth decay and gingival diseases can be reduced.

Lingual Orthodontics is a technique, in which the brackets where the wires apply power to the teeth are attached, are placed on the rear surfaces at the tongue side instead of the front surfaces of the teeth at the lips side. The most important advantage of this technique is its complete invisibility.

Nowadays, customized apparatus, designed and produced specific for each individual, are available. The treatment results are more successful than the other lingual treatment techniques, thanks to its customized structure. Again thanks to the customized feature, the adaptation period for the patient is very short. Unlike the other systems, the problems, such as speech disorders or wounds on the tongue, which usually happen throughout the treatment period, don’t occur in these systems. The patient gets used to the apparatus inside his/her mouth within 2 weeks, and maintains a normal life. Contrary to the other treatment systems, it has wider application areas. Almost all malocclusions can be cured with this system. Since it is customizable, this system somehow reduces the treatment period. Since it has been produced from gold alley, and the gold is the most biocompatible material, it has no allergenic characteristics.

Bacterial accumulation on teeth and surrounding tissue causes infection of gingival tissues. If it’s not treated, this infection spreads to deep tissues (bone).Periodontal treatment provides a healthy relationship between tooth and surrounding tissue and treats the disease which could cause teeth loss.

Sedation is the process of sedating the patient with certain drugs without losing the conscience. This procedure is applied in patients with several fear and phobia. This is a simpler and very good alternative to general anesthesia.
