Kiwanis
Founded in 1915 and headquartered in Indianapo-
lis, Indiana, USA, Kiwanis International is a thriv-
ing organization of service- and community-
minded men and women who support children and
young adults worldwide. More than 8,000 Kiwanis
clubs in more than 70 countries make their mark by
responding to the needs of their communities and
pooling their resources to address worldwide is-
sues. Through these efforts, Kiwanis International
is truly “Serving the Children of the World.”
Dobytown Kiwanis service club was founded in
Kearney in 1978. Our membership is currently
at 62. We meet every Tuesday morning from
6:45 -7:30 at Perkins Restaurant. Each meeting
consists of announcements and a program. (The
last Tuesday meeting of each month is dedicated
to conducting the business of the club.). Our
major purpose is best said by our motto –
Young Children Priority One. Most of our
projects revolve around helping children and
young adults in our community.
