loans that change lives

Kiva (www.kiva.org), the “hottest non-profit on the planet” according to FORTUNE magazine, is the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website. Kiva’s microfinance institution (MFI) field partners are in fifty-three countries and post thousands of loans to Kiva.org everyday so that individual lenders around the world can help to fund the efforts of microfinance entrepreneurs.

Kiva Fellows are self-funded Kiva representatives with unprecedented access to a microfinance institution abroad and gain an up close look at the growing microfinance industry. As a Kiva Fellow, you will:

• Facilitate connections between Kiva’s borrowers and lenders by telling the stories of entrepreneurs, sharing insights from the ground, and spreading the word about what microfinance really looks like.

• Maximize the host MFI’s partnership with Kiva by posting on the Kiva website and increasing the field partners international visibility.

• Use your skills to sustainably train MFI staff on Kiva processes, policies, and best practices.

• Support Kiva’s mission, product, and procedures as you promote Kiva’s development.

Where do volunteers go? Africa, the Americas, Asia, Eastern

Europe and the Middle East.
