Getting Started
Tie back long hair when cookingWash your hands with hot soapy water before preparing, serving, or eating foodDo not wear baggy clothing when cooking
Oven Practice
Use hot pads to remove pans from ovenNever use two dish towels
Putting out Fires
Use baking soda, salt, or fire extinguisher to put out a grease fireYou can also use a tight fitting lidNever put water on a grease fire
Messes Are Not OK
Clean up spills immediatelyTo clean up broken glass, use a wet paper towel
Electricity & Water Don’t Mix
Use electrical appliances with dry handsDo not run an electrical cord across a water sourceWhen cleaning electrical appliances, be sure they are immersible.
