Kingsview Investment Strategies:

Multi-Strategy Portfolio SeriesThe Kingsview Multi-Strategy Portfolio Series follows our firm’s philosophy that an investor’s long-term goals are capital appreciation, limited volatility and quick recovery times from market losses. We believe that volatility is largely based upon behavioral and fundamental factors within the financial markets. As a result, there are proven methodologies in portfolio construction that may help insulate investor capital from those naturally occurring, vigorous oscillations in the markets. The Kingsview Multi-Strategy Portfolio Series combines these methodologies of portfolio construction within a single investment account that addresses the risk and return objectives of an investor’s financial goals. To achieve the above, our approach combines groups of non-correlating assets along with strategy diversification within each portfolio. This allows us to have a wide range of asset class ownership, as well as different investment approaches to each type of positioning. Methodologies from the more strategic, long-biased realm are included in this portfolio set, as are active asset allocations and tactical efforts in order to fully round out the overall approach. Our goal within each allocation subset is to outperform the underlying benchmarks over a full market cycle with less risk than the benchmark provides.

Strategic TacticalActive

This strategy features seventeen different asset classes in equities, fixed income and alternatives, individually weighted based on a target risk allocation. Our proprietary model systematically rebalances the allocation daily, when specific targets are achieved. This process allows certain portfolio assets to demonstrate true long-term potential. The model is not designed to be overly active or discriminatory to certain asset classes, other than the rebalancing and trading that occurs to keep the portfolio in-line with its preset allocations.

This strategy follows an approach that uses fundamental economic and market data to construct a weighting bias within the portfolio. The specific allocation to various assets classes is determined by the current phase of the economic cycle and the resulting market conditions therein. When identifying the current phase of the economic cycle, the portfolio places high emphasis on macroeconomic data points like employment, GDP and profitability. This approach is designed to avoid large draw downs with an absolute return profile in economic upturns.

This strategy shifts the portfolio to take advantage of strong (or weak) market sectors. Instead of always rebalancing back to a target allocation on a regular time frame, the allocation allows the outperforming assets to grow. Rebalancing would occur when asset classes are shifted depending upon changing market conditions. We are not timing the markets, but recognize that each asset class has a season in the sun. We work to find those periods of time and make investments in those asset classes, avoiding those investments that are suffering through a “rainy season.”
