He was badly o ff financially and aboot July 15th I resigned. * accepted a job as th e clerk o f th e lm=ric.an school Association. My '-'Ork a t th e school was t o s e t a l l o f th e clocks in th e IIDrnings before classes, then sell th e school supplies t o th e students, make ou t th e bills fo r their tuition and keep th e accrunts; 1 rather enjoyed th e ~ r k . I remained fo r 4 years. After one year, I was allCM:!d t o atte.'ld on e class three t.i.trEs a week in th e High School. I chose English, then Physics, and then Solid Gec:m=try. My salary was about sixty dollars pe r rronth. On 12/6/!911, Mr .
