A remarkable pastwe all long for a home somewhere special. Sometimes, it really is possible. when you choose King’s island in Denham, uxbridge, you select a corner of the world that is as vital as it is welcoming.

KING’S ISLAND

if you could journey through uxbridge’s past, you would bear witness to a community at the centre of our country’s history and the crossroads of evolving transport links. The people and ideas nurtured by this small town have played their part in attempted revolutions, industrial innovation, and political turmoil. Trade and farming have marked the area’s bygone centuries, as much as science and business drive it into a prosperous future.

For those who look, there are signs everywhere of the people who breathed life into the borough. uncovered neolithic remains speak of ancestors passing impossibly distant lives. Dark age anglo Saxons traded and farmed here, naming the town. Medieval, Georgian and elizabethan buildings survive, echoing history in their stones. london, ever close, has called out with its wealth, art and politics.

A place to make your home

Throughout the tumult of the years, uxbridge has grown. Because, in truth, the main business of uxbridge has always been living. Seeking a better life for its citizens, and a better future for its children. The town is built on a human scale - accessible and surrounded by countryside, waterways and canals. industry here serves people and always has - marking its spaces near the town, without claiming a special right to the people or their aspirations. as history has flowed, a village founded by anglo-Saxon warriors has become a home to 60,000 that is safe, clean, green and well-connected.

whether state or private, education flourishes in the town and its wider region. uxbridge is home to Brunel university, and campuses of Buckinghamshire new university and uxbridge College. There are excellent schools in the town, including co-educational, independent provision at aCS Hillingdon international School and St. Helen’s College. State options include Hermitage Primary School, oak Farm Junior School, St andrew’s Church of england Primary School, St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, whitehall infant School and whitehall Junior School, and uxbridge High School, with the metropolitan universities, schools and colleges nearby.

and with its connections and confidence, the trend for renewal and reinvention continues. uxbridge boasts the new Hillingdon Sports and leisure Complex, opened in 2010. art flourishes at the Dominion arts education Centre and at Contemporaryartwest, a springboard for modern artists. london is close and alluring, but uxbridge is still a wonderful place to shop, eat and socialise. its pedestrianised streets host boutique stores, welcoming pubs and restaurants, high street names and Randall’s department store - a building that recently celebrated its Grade ii listing. For the truly dedicated shopper, modern shopping centres include The Mall and The Chimes.

Simply put, things work in uxbridge. They come together and make a better way of life. world class firms have headquarters in uxbridge, recognising the unmatched quality of life it provides. apple, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, Dell, Coca-Cola, Bristol-Myers Squibb and dozens of others make uxbridge an engine of growth, and provide enviable careers.
