Kind of sentences In English, there 4 types of sentences; they express feelings, offer information, ask for information and give orders. 1. Declarative sentences: used frequently, these kind o sentences offer information about something. They can be in any tense. She speaks English Maria walks every day She is my teacher 2. Interrogative sentences : these sentences look for information about something. They can also be in any tense. They must be finished with a “?” (Question mark) Are you happy? Do you like bananas? Does she play the guitar? Don`t you like chocolates 3. Exclamative sentences: These sentences are used to emphasize a comment, feeling. These sentences must be finished with a “!”(exclamation mark) She is perfect! Awesome! Incredible! That’s perfect! 4. Imperative sentences: these sentences are used to give orders. They do not contain any subject(but it is supposed to be “you”), just action verbs and complements ( objects) Shut your mouth. Open the window Study English, please! Take off Don’t do that!
