We begin with Chapter 13 – We Are God’s Children. Next week, we begin our Family Life series. Special Weekly Events & Reminders Monday – Library Tuesday – P.E. Wednesday – Art Thursday – Kindergarten Mass Music Grandma Readers Friday – K/5 Rosary This week we will finish Chapter 7 – Compose and Decompose Numbers 11 to 19. This week, we will problem solve by making a table, make and take apart numbers 16 to 19, review and reflect, and take our performance task. Next week, we begin Chapter 6 – Subtraction. This week, we are reading I Need a Lunch Box. Our target skill is author’s purpose; students will discuss why they think the author wrote the story. We will also review our letter friends, Xx, Yy, and Zz. This week, we continue our small group phonics lessons. During our lessons we are learning to orally blend sounds, rhyme, sound pronunciation, and following left to right. In lessons 81-100, we are learning 3 sounds, 54 regular words, 2 irregular words, learning to read words the fast way, building our story comprehension skills, and finding periods, question marks, and quotation marks. In lessons 101-120, we are learning 4 sounds, 53 regular words, 13 irregular words, learning to read words the fast way, building our story comprehension skills, and finding periods, question marks, and quotation marks. Our caterpillars have arrived and are growing bigger everyday! In a few weeks we will be working on our Kindergarten shirts. Each student will need 1 brand new white t-shirt.
