KINDERGARTEN ISKRICA ZAGREB CROATIA PRINCIPAL: RENATA GRDI COMENIUS PROJECT PARTICIPANTS: SANJA CHAMBERS HORVAT, english teacher (coordinator) MARINA KUBINAN GRUII, english teacher HELENA TOPOLOVEC, english teacher DIJANA MAMULA, english teacher THE HISTORY OF ISKRICA -O-Our kindergarten first opened its doors on August 8th, T-The first nursery was opened as a part of the state railway workshops in the area Trnje. -O-On January 17th, 1967, we moved into the spaces in Kruge, and into the first purpose-built nursery, that would have the capacity for 60 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 3 years. -I-In 1971 a new upgrade of our building was started. - On December 26th, 1974, we began working as new facility with a capacity of up to 350 children. -I-In 1978 we merged with our kindergarten building in Bosutska street, which was the first purpose-built kindergarten in Zagreb in In 1991 Kindergarten gets its present name Iskrica (Spark). - In 1991 the Ministry of Education appointed Iskrica to a Teachers Academy training facility for the Physical education.
