Kindergarten- A place where children are encouraged to learn through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic experiences. Kindergarten is a year filled with memorable experiences!

M is for...

Math- We use the Abeka kindergarten workbook, as well as a variety of hands-on work stations and manipulatives. Math is not a spectator sport!

N is for...

Newsletter- A hard-copy of the newsletter will be in the WOW binder each Monday. An attachment of the newsletter will also be sent via email.

O is for...

Obey- Students are expected to obey promptly and respectfully. A visual system of tracking behavior will be used, in a positive manner. Behavior is assessed daily in the binder.

P is for...

Parent Conferences- A parent-teacher conference is scheduled in October, at the end of 1st quarter. In mid 4th quarter, the kindergartners will host student-led conferences for their parents!

Q is for...

Questions- I am partnering with you in the education of your child. Questions are welcome! I will respond within 24 hours to emails, notes in the binder, or phone calls! Also, a meeting can always be scheduled.

R is for...Reading- We use Bob Jones’ K5 Beginnings curriculum, plus many other methods that create a well-rounded literacy program.

Rest- We use a short rest time to quiet our minds, relax, and recharge.

S is for...

Snack- We break for snack at 9:15. Please provide appropriate snacks-grapes, crackers, pretzels, etc.. Snacks that require peeling, or a utensil, may be eaten at lunch, but not during classroom snack time.

T is for...

Towel/Small Blanket- Each child needs a large towel OR small, toddler-sized blanket for rest time. These items must be placed in individual bags (a plastic store bag) and brought to class on Mondays. They will be sent home on Fridays.

U is for...

Unique- Every child arrives with individual talents, skills, learning styles, and modes of intelligence. I will celebrate your children and nurture their growth in ways that help them shine!

V is for...

Volunteers- Please complete the volunteer form to let me know of your availability and interests.

W is for...

Website- Our class website is updated often and contains a photographic view of our learning. You can subscribe to follow the site via email! www.wccskindergarten.blogspot.com

X, Y, Z is for...

I am eXcited to work with all of you and your children this year! Make sure they get plenty of Zzzz’s each night because we have busy, happy, fulfilling days!
