ESSAY. Explain in 100 words or less why you want to run for the position and the key points of your platform.
I want to run as ICR Cluster Head because I know that this cluster still has a lot of potential for development and growth. I know that being a Cluster Head would be tough, but I’m willing to be passionate and committed to COA for next school year. I believe that this will be a great avenue for me to grow as a leader. Moreover, I love knowing about other cultures and I think I’ll enjoy leading the three ICR organizations. My platform will focus on ICR cluster’s: (1) further identity development; (2) increased visibility; and (3) stronger member formation.

Council of Organizations of the Ateneo Central Board Elections 2012-2013: Electoral Form
II. PLATFORM
1) Main Point: Further Identity Development Details: As a cluster, our identity should be inculcated more in our members. I believe that this can be done through a general assembly of all the ICR members at the start of the school year, which can also serve as an avenue for team-building and member formation. In this general assembly, the three ICR organizations can promote their projects, while getting to know more about the cluster and our plans for the school year or semester. Our cluster’s vision will be discussed, as well as the values and advocacies that our cluster stands for.
2) Main Point: Increased Visibility Details: Increased visibility is essential for the ICR cluster. We have to promote awareness among Ateneans towards appreciation of the cultures by which our cluster stands for. This can be done through increased promotions of our projects, as well as utmost utilization of our Facebook page. The ICR Week will also be further improved to increase member participation, as well as participation from the LS student body. Emphasis will be given on improving the marketing, conceptualization and organization of all our projects. For our projects that are open to all Ateneans, we can employ non-traditional promotions.
3) Main Point: Stronger Member Formation Details: As a cluster, we have to be internally strong. I will advocate on team-building activities such as the General Assembly, the improvement of the Relationship Day project and an ICR Sports Fest. Moreover, I will also try to introduce more innovative means of member formation. A weekly online ICR bulletin can feature ICR members. In this way, we can promote unity and collaboration in the cluster.
