Significant loss of life and damage to property has taken place, and thousands of people may be housed in shelters for months to come. Lutheran Disaster Response is on the scene, collaborating with local leaders and officials to give help and hope to those affected. Kingdom Kids and 3-5 Alive Faith Formation We will start back this Wed., September 13th, with our Kingdom Kids 3-5 Alive Faith Formation. Join us at 5:30pm-6:30pm. We will normally start outside if the

weather is nice. Hope to see you there!

HS/MS Youth and Parent Meeting

We are asking for Parents and Youth to join us for a meeting TODAY during Sunday School, to go over the

Fall 2017 Calendar, Confirmation and Info on the ELCA Youth Gathering. If your child is 6th-12th

grades, we ask that you attend.

2018 ELCA Youth Gathering We will be having an informational meeting about the Youth Gathering today after our HS/MS meeting and

we hope that you can come. Those who are going into the 8th grade and up are invited with their parents.

We will go over costs and when we need to register. We will be flying this year to Houston!

J.O.Y. Group

September 13th we will head to Stony Mountain Vineyards in PJ’s home town of Albemarle! Meet at

the church at 10am

KMLC Preschool Registration We are still enrolling for our 2017-2018 school year. If

you know of anyone looking for a preschool, please send them our way. Our #1 goal is to love kids, so we

hope that you will tell others about us!

Kimball Youth and Family Ministry Groups Kingdom Kids (0-2nd Grade), 3-5 ALIVE (3-5th Grades), MS Youth (6-8th Grades), HS Youth (9-12 Grades), Youth Adult (College Age), J.O.Y Group (Just Older Youth)

Bible and Brew Bible and Brew will be held on September 22nd at the

Ramsey’s @ 6:30 pm.

Friends are always welcome and invited as well as families. We will provide a sitter for that fellowship time so bring your kids for fun and fellowship with

each other.

Good News, Good Brew– September 29th-Oct 1st Agape Kure Beach

I am leading the Good News, Good Brews retreat this year at Kure Beach. If you are interested in coming, the cost is

$125 to share a triple room or $145 for a double room. The retreat starts at 7pm. Let Liz know if you would like the

link to register. Transportation would be on your own, but we would love to have you!

The Finance Team will be meeting in September to begin work on Kimball’s 2018 operating budget. All committees/teams are asked to provide any budget requests in writing to the Finance Team no later than September 15th. The requests can either be emailed or delivered to the church office and they will be forwarded to the Finance Team. Thanks for your support of this effort.

A JOINT REFORMATION SERVICE will be held on Saturday, September 23rd from 2:00 - 4:00 PM (with a special program of sacred music beginning at 1:30) at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte (1000 E. Morehead Street). This service will be held with the South Carolina Synod of the ELCA...and will feature presiding ELCA Bishop Elizabeth Eaton preaching for this service. A group will meet at Kimball Memorial at 10:30 AM (note the time change!) to leave for lunch (Dutch Treat) at Tupelo Honey Cafe' in Charlotte...and then attend the service in time to enjoy the musical program. We'll return to Kimball Memorial about 5:00 PM. If you're interested in attending with us, please use the sign-up sheet that's posted. We hope you'll join us for a wonderful day of celebration...please sign up by September, 17th to reserve your spot!
