We view our roadmaptowards sustainability to be a three-prongstrategy including:

PeopleEnsure sustainability is a clearly stated KimballOffice value, as communicated by ourstakeholders and included in employee trainingand education across the organization. •Build facilities and perform renovations meetingthe U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEEDGreen Building Rating Standard™, to enhance thehealth of our employees and guests whileconserving energy and eliminating waste.•Contribute continued leadership and resources toindustry and government partnerships, such asUSGBC, EPA programs and BIFMA, which arecommitted to long-term comprehensiveenvironmental strategies.

ProductDesign new products utilizing DfE, Design for theEnvironment Protocol, considering theenvironmental impact of product design in thedevelopment and manufacturing processes. •Maintain the highest level of product performanceattributes for indoor air quality for healthyworkplaces certified to environmental standards ofUSGBC LEED and BIFMA Furniture EmissionsStandard (FES).•Implement Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)Certification on materials and chain-of-custodyprocesses for our products, helping contributetoward LEED building certification for ourcustomers.•Proactively respond to market drivers for thebenefits of material conservation, content and useof recycled materials in the development of allnew products and enhancements.

ProcessMaintain our registration for ISO 14001:2004Environmental Management System, whichrequires continuous improvement in environmentalareas by identifying Significant EnvironmentalAspects at all manufacturing locations. TheseAspects will reduce the environmental impactfrom our manufacturing processes and promotesustainable practices.•Develop sustainability strategies, implementationplans, and incentives with our vendors and supplychain partners.

Aspirations and expectations for the futureOver the years, Kimball Office has been pleasedto witness the increased consciousness of thepublic and the priority that our customers haveplaced on sustainability. We aspire to moveforward in lockstep with them, working to develop products that enhance their workplaceswith healthy, aesthetically-pleasing products thatattract and retain top talent.

As our customers build green buildings inaccordance with the USGBC LEED ratingsystems, we build green buildings for ouremployees and showroom visitors. We celebraterecognition for unique accomplishments such asour Recycling Center which accounts for divertingeleven million pounds of waste annually fromlandfills. We have learned about conserving fuelduring transportation based on an innovative truckidling program. We quietly celebrate theseachievements but are far from being satisfied.

We plan to continue. We have set our targetaspirations for the future and acknowledge along-term quest for action and improvement.
