Dear M~. Weyerhaeuser:
Thank you very much for your kind letter of May 1st, welcoming me to the Weyerhaeuser organization.
I have certainly enjoyed reading the material sent to me by the Weyerhaeuser Sales Company at St. Paul and it has given me a good opportunity to get acquainted with the Weyerhaeuser family.
As for myself, I started with Kieckhefer Container Company at New Orleans February 6, 1930 at the time that the New Orleans plant was opened; this was right after my 18th birthday. From that time until August 10, 1937 when I was transferred to Houston I was superintendant under John Gilbert at New Orleans. On November 5, 1947 I was transferred to the new operation here at McAllen, Texas as resident manager and until that time I was superintendant under Jack Hoff in the Houston operation. I have been here at McAllen ever since.
I feel sure that the merger of Kieckhefer-Eddy into Weyerhaeuser Timber Company will be a source of satisfaction and pride to all of us. Again, as for myself, I want you to know that you can expect my complete co-operation and loyalty and to this end I will dedica my best efforts.
nclv yours,
LWG:zg
