KSHACKids School Health Advisory
Council
What is it?
All students interested must apply. Then, 12 -15 students will be selected to be a part of the K-SHAC TEAM for Edgewood. Applications will only be accepted if completely filled out.
Students will have an opportunity to learn, implement, and help improve school policies through their own eyes and actions. They will be the voice for the student body in regard to both Physical and Mental Health through the use of different types of technology.
When is K-SHAC?
Tentatively on Wednesdays after school 1 to 1.5 hours Day may change after we meet with parents of students involved. Transportation/LogisticsSome events will take place during School as well; The Oliver Foundation - Controlled Groups. Performances (help with them, participate in them, etc.)
Expectations/Selection Process
Students will receive an orientation during HF classes and receive invitations to sign up.
Student must be doing their best in order to be part of the council, including following the rules of EWE.
Student must maintain good academic standing in all classes.
Students can be dismissed from the program if they fail to meet the requirements.
We are asking your help in selecting the group.

Extra Curricular Events
Attend a CSHAC meeting. Presentations Photography of the students to showcase
the Program Possible DSHAC attendance. Family Fun Fitness Night Field Day 5K’s (BONA Foundation Fun Run,
SBISD Run For The Arts)
Parent/Teacher Meeting
There will be a meeting after school probably to inform the parents of the selected students about KSHAC.
We will need some parent/teacher volunteers throughout the year for various reasons.
Chaperone trips, Vegetable Garden, Cooking, Baking, Projects.
Projects would include making posters, videos to showcase the program, mentoring, etc.
Parent/Teacher Meeting
After students are selected the parents will attend an orientation about the program and their obligations as well as their child.
They will receive a letter/handout to read and sign and agree to the program requirements
Teacher volunteers when available. Field trips, projects, videos, etc.
