• Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Special Project established in January 2006.
• Centered on the needs of people receiving life sustaining treatment for end stage renal disease (ESRD).
• Session Goals: – Educate stakeholders to ensure thorough preparedness
and effective response.– Enhance partnerships between emergency managers,
ESRD providers, and ESRD Networks.– Encourage incorporation of the needs of ESRD patients
and providers into emergency plans.
2011 Extreme Weather
14 disaster events caused $1billion or more in damages:

• Drought/heat wave (1)

Continuing Education Credits
This program has been approved for 1.5 contact hours to be provided by CE Provider # 50-747: Florida Board of Nursing, Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, Florida Board of Pharmacists, Florida Council of Dietetics and Nutrition, and Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Only Florida licensees will have credit submitted. Non-Florida attendees will need to submit their own credits for approval by their state Boards.
Each attendee should claim only those hours that he/she actually attends an educational activity.
