Str Cdr & Hoops4Hope: Bringing Hope to Communities Hoops4Hope is a non-profit organization that uses sport (basketball and soccer specifically) as a tool to teach underprivileged youth lifeskills and HIV & Aids awareness. Hoops4Hope reaches over 10 000 youth in disadvantaged communities, partnering with over 150 schools, shelters and community groups in South Africa and Zimbabwe. For more info www.hoopsafrica.org Legendary New York DJ, streetballer and winner of Hoops4Hope’s Ubuntu award, Bobbito García, will be hosting a BASKETBALL CLINIC with Gugulethu youth. Date: Thursday, 23 September Time: 14:45-15:30 Venue: The Rainbow Centre in Gugulethu Directions: N2 from Cape Town towards airport (CTIA) take exist Duinefontein off- ramp (exit15). Turn right at traffic lights onto Duinefontein. At second traffic lights after bridge turn left onto Klipfontein. Continue straight over bridge. Across first traffic lights after bridge (NY108) and take first left onto NY115 (MZOLIs). Drive straight down to t-junction and turn right. Take the first left. Then take the second right onto NY135 and first left onto NY 136. Rainbow Centre is on the right. CELEBS vs. All-Stars Come and witness celebrities in an ALL STARS vs. CELEBS Charity Game. Celebrities from all over, including Bobbito, former professional player Thierry Kita, Siya(VUZU Entertainment), Good Hope FM, Kaizer Tsosane (the Man Show) many more, as they take on local basketball stars as a fundraiser and awareness for Hoops4Hope. Date: Thursday, 23 September Time: 19h00 Venue: CPUT Multi Purpose Hall Cnr Keizergracht Street and Tennant Street Halftime entertainment will include B-Boying, Dance Offs and an And 1 skills challenge. Prizes will be available, including the opportunity to win tickets to the STR CRD sneaker convention. No entrance fee: however donations are welcomed.
