Kia Motors Puerto Rico

Kia Motors Corporation (KMC) is Korea’s oldest auto manufacturer.

Founded in 1944 as a producer of steel tubing and bicycles, today it is

part of the fifth largest automotive group in the world with a worldwide

network of more than 48,000 employees. The company produces

over 2.7 million vehicles in 10 manufacturing and assembly operations

in five countries and accounts for more than 4,000 distributors and

dealers in 150 countries.

In the 90’s, Kia expanded its distribution by establishing affiliations in

the United States and Europe. In 1994 it began operations in Puerto

Rico and in 2000 Motorambar, Inc. acquired exclusive distribution

rights for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Currently, Puerto Rico is Kia’s (KMC) fifth most important market in

Latin America amongst the 42 countries that make up the region,

following larger territories such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador

and Peru. Kia has been the fastest growing brand on the Island for

five consecutive years, and consists of 14 dealerships and 17 service

centers. It also has a dealer and service center in Saint Thomas.

About Kia Motors

Outstanding design is essential for creating a world-leading automotive brand. In 2006 KMC

appointed former top designer for Audi and Volkswagen, Peter Schreyer, as the new Chief

Design Officer for the Kia brand.

Schreyer’s inspiration led Kia into a design transformation with the introduction of the new

corporate grille, a symbolic representation of a tiger’s roaring expression. The signature

“face” gave the brand a distinctive character that is recognizable at first sight and stands

out from the rest.

The new design strategy presents innovative, elegant and futuristic styles, while delivering

top quality, technologically advanced vehicles.

In December 2012, Schreyer was also named KMC’s new president.

Our industry-leading 5-year/60,000-mile commercial warranty

program denotes our confidence in the quality and endurance of our

vehicles. It consists of a limited powertrain warranty, limited basic

warranty, limited anti-perforation warranty and 2-year/24,000 mile

24-hour roadside assistance.

Our 50,000 square foot warehouse stores over 28,000 SKU’s of

original Kia auto parts and accessories. We supply all service centers

on the Island. For this reason, our customers can always count on us

meeting their spare parts needs.
