The skies rained shells ...

I saw flashes..thunder roared

I was lucky, I only lost my legs... my brother lost his eye,

my youngest brother lost his life.


March 2010 - I arrived in Dubai to fit prosthetic legs

The community showed tremendous support


I told my story to the PCRF team“Under the rubble, covered with ash, they knew me from the sparkle in my eyes”

I am determined, athletic, and hopeful!

Many people saw me and joined to support.. journalists, photographers, community volunteers, dive instructors

My training was fun, tiring and long

I slowly realized how unique my experience is, and the impact it has not only on me.. but other amputees in

the Arab world!

While I used webbed gloves, volunteers were designing underwater artificial limbs

The community support and the media was great! My family watched my progress on TV, others read about me on the internet.
