You must especially follow the instructions in the chapter "Safety". Target group of this documentation This documentation is intended for use by specialists only. All work described in this document is to be performed only by experienced professionals with training and practice in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of the AS 3600 multi-point lock and its individual components. Intended use 1.1.3 Installation location • The multi-point lock is suitable for installation in single-sash and double-sash doors in permanent buildings. • The multi-point lock may only be installed in doors that have been fitted in a technically sound manner. • The door design must permit use of the multi-point lock. 1.1.4 Locking part and hardware • Only KFV frame parts with Q adjustment may be used. The locking elements must always engage freely in the lock striker of the frame parts. Improper use • Do not use for escape doors. • The multi-point lock is not designed to accommodate changes to its shape or seal which arise as a result of differences in temperature or changes to the building. • The multi-point lock must not be used in doors for wet rooms or rooms in which the air contains aggressive or corrosive components. • Foreign objects and/or materials which impede or prevent proper use must not be placed within the opening range, the locking system or the striker plates. The multi-point lock must not be interfered with and/or modified. Exceptions to this are: change of the DIN-direction, retrofitting the multi-point lock with the T3 safety lock or A-opener. • Locking elements must not be misused to hold the door open. • Movable or adjustable locking pieces (e.g. deadbolt, latch) must not be painted over. Installation conditions and requirements Local building laws and regulations must be observed before and during door installation in addition to the following requirements and conditions of the assembly instructions. Transport Do not place the multi-point lock heavily on the ground when it is unpackaged, as this can damage the lock. • Always secure the assembled multi-point lock with the enclosed transit support to prevent the falling bolts and hook bolts from moving to the locking position during transport. Falling bolts and hook bolts in the frame parts could be damaged or break off as a result of shock vibrations during transport. • The door leaf and the frame should be block set against each other to provide further stability. 1.2 Delivery versions and useAS 3600

The automatic AS 3600 multi-point lock locks automatically when the door is closed. The triggers [1] of the falling bolt [2] are pressed inwards on contact with the frame part. Falling bolt and hook bolt [3] move to the locking position.

The falling bolt, hook bolt and main lock latch [3] retract when the lever handle [1] is activated or when the key [2] is turned to the release position.

or

After the lever handle or key is released, the main lock latch extends and the falling bolts move to the trigger position.

or

The main lock bolt extends when the key is turned once into the locking position. In this position, the lever handle is fixed. The main lock bolt retracts when the key is turned once into the release position, and the lever handle is released again.

AS 3600 TA

The AS 3600 TA automatic multi-point lock is supplemented by a day-time function. The daytime function enables the door to be opened from the outside without the use of a key. The daytime function is activated via a sliding handle on the day latch (a matching frame part must be used for this purpose) [1] and on the main lock bolt [2].

There is a risk of being locked out if the daytime release is not activated completely.

BOTH functions must always be activated.

Activating the daytime function:

Activate and hold the lever handle or turn the key to the release position and hold.

The falling bolt and main lock latch retract.

Move the sliding handle in the main lock bolt downwards.

Release the lever handle or key.

The falling bolts remain retracted meaning that the automatic lock-ing mechanism is not triggered by closing the door. The main lock latch extends again.

Release of the day latch on the frame side. Move the sliding handle  [1] either downwards or upwards (depending on the direction of installation). If the day latch is released it pivots inwards when pressure is applied from the outside and the door can be opened.

Deactivating the daytime function:

Activate and hold the lever handle or turn the key to the release position and hold.

Move the sliding handle in the main lock bolt upwards and lock the day latch on the frame side.

Release the lever handle or key. The falling bolts move to the trigger position.

The daytime function is deactivated. The falling bolts and hook bolts move to the locking position the next time the door is closed.

AS 3600 T4

The automatic AS 3600 T4 multi-point lock is equipped with a safety lock. This restricts the opening gap of the door. A frame part with a blocking clip [1] must be used for this purpose. The T4 safety lock can be locked and released via the olive [2]. It can also be unlocked from the outside using the key [3].

Turn the key to the locking and then to the release position to release the safety lock.

Retrofitting components

The automatic multi-point lock AS 3600 can be retrofitted with further components.

T3 Safety lock:

The retrofittable "T3" safety lock differs from the pre-assembled "T4" safety lock in that it can only be locked and released from the interior side of the door via the olive.

A-opener:

The AS 3600 automatic multi-point lock can be upgraded to an electromechanical multi-point lock with the A-opener motor (available for purchase separately).

Automatic mechanical locking, electromechanical release.

The hook bolts and falling bolts of the auxiliary box and the latch are retracted into the main lock in case of electromechanical opening. The deadbolt in the main lock is not locked in this opening procedure.

Enables connection to an intercom system or access control system. The connection possibilities correspond to the KFV GENIUS Type A. Cable transfers and accessories from the KFV GENIUS programme are compatible, and assembly and connection are the same. The KFV A-opener does not have a magnetic sensor, therefore a magnet on the frame side is unnecessary.
