Key Truths AnswersLesson SeventeenThe Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus
on Maundy Thursday. We see the bread and wine; with these elements are Jesus’ own body and blood. Opening Prayer
THE GIVING
OF
GOD’S LAW
The Giving of God’s Law
God gave the world His Law in two ways:
Romans 2:14-15 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the
law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)
The Giving of God’s Law
1. He wrote it in people’s hearts.
God gave the world His Law in two ways:
Deuteronomy 10:4
4 The LORD wrote on these tablets what he had written before, the Ten Commandments he had proclaimed to you on the mountain, out of the fire, on the day of the assembly. And the LORD gave them to me.
The Giving of God’s Law
1. He wrote it in people’s hearts.
God gave the world His Law in two ways:
2. He wrote it on stone tablets at Mt. Sinai
Ephesians 4:18,19
18They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.
The Giving of God’s Law
1. He wrote it in people’s hearts.
God gave the world His Law in two ways:
2. He wrote it on stone tablets at Mt. Sinai
because people’s sin made them forget some of God’s Law or misunderstand it.

THE REASON
FOR
GOD’S LAW
Romans 7:7
I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
The Reason for God’s Law
1. The Law serves as a
mirror
or
curb to
All people (S.O.S.)
for
Psalm 119:105
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
The Reason for God’s Law
1. The Law serves as a
mirror
or
curb to
All people (S.O.S.)
for
2. The Law serves as a
guide to
