The Project
The Department of Historical and Geographical Sciences and the Ancient World (DiSSGeA) at the University of Padova has launched the �ve-year (2018-2022) Mobility & Humanities Project to develop interdisciplinary resear-ch about mobilities. antiquity to contemporaneity), the project aims to contribute to the emerging debate on mobility and the humanities. Fostering both individual and collective research, the DiSSGeA works on an innovative humanistic study of mobility, intended as movement in both space and time.
Centre for Advanced Studies
The Centre is committed to running the Mobility & Humanities Seminar Series. Key speakers in the �eld are regularly invited by the Department’s research groups to further elaborate on and advance their research activi-ties. This way, the Centre con�gures itself as an international research hub for the humanistic study of mobility, a place where intellectual exchange and hospitality take a crucial part in the development of brand-new research directions.
Digital Laboratory for Mobility Research (MobiLab)
To guarantee digital support to humani-stic research dealing with mobility issues, a Digital Laboratory for Mobility Research (MobiLab) has been established at the DiSSGeA. The lab, equipped with state-of-the art technology and sta�ed by digital humanities experts, will develop quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research tools, empirical digital projects, innovative teaching and dissemination within the framework of the Mobility & Humanities Project.
