Seamlessly integrated to Content Server

Blazon is a server-based tool that provides an easy client user interface to access its features. Blazon offers robust publishing options within Content Server. There’s no need to leave the repository to transform and work with files.

Blazon rendition engine

Blazon is a highly scalable rendition engine designed to function as a shared service that can grow as an organization’s needs grow. By centralizing the Blazon PDF rendition engine, organizations can reduce their IT infrastructures and expenses while also ensuring document consistency.

Support for a wide range of file types, including CAD

Blazon takes files in practically any format and creates renditions in PDF*, TIFF or IGC’s secure Content Sealed Format (CSF). Unlike some competitor products, Blazon also supports CAD files.

When transforming CAD drawings, Blazon preserves vector geometry, drawing layers and block attributes, and it supports plot styles and fonts for high-fidelity renditions. Blazon makes it easy to share complex drawings featuring the best-in-class fidelity.

Protect intellectual property from the start

Security is more than a password. With Blazon you can set security controls and publishing criteria to protect intellectual property. Add stamps, watermarks and banners to include Content Server metadata and system information like the user’s name or current date, or static text such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT.

Publishing options

Blazon for OpenText Content Server offers three file transformation options: Blazon can be set up as a rendition engine; a batch of files can be selected and manually submitted to Blazon; or a workflow map can be created that contains a Blazon publishing step.

Merge and publish multiple files

Need to combine many different files into one? Simply select the desired files and use Blazon to output them into one manageable PDF, TIFF or CSF file. Blazon even outputs a table of contents with hyperlinks, making it easy to navigate the new file.

Publish to CSF

Convert sensitive documents to CSF, an encrypted and secure format, for safe distribution to third parties. CSF offers Visual Rights® protection that lets you restrict print, copy and print screen permissions; add password protection; add an expiration date (time bomb); and more. CSF is a proprietary IGC format, so there are no third-party editors that can modify content or circumvent security and expiration-date settings.

Reduce document transformation costs

Use internal resources more effectively and save money by automating time-consuming manual processes, such as transforming large batches of Microsoft Word documents to PDF for distribution, creating TIFFs from CAD drawings, extracting text for use by search indexers and more. Blazon can also create file thumbnails on demand or in batches, which is useful for visually augmenting web pages, document lists and search results.

Improve content accessibility

Converting documents to a neutral format, such as TIFF or text-searchable PDF, makes them easily accessible for archiving and for sharing within or outside of the organization. Blazon creates accurate versions of your documents in universally supported formats to improve collaboration and overall process efficiency.

Blazon also allows you to share comments and annotations with outside parties by burning in markups and Changemark® comments from IGC’s Brava!® during the publishing process. Changemark comments are converted to Adobe Acrobat comments in PDFs.
