    Explanatory Note

    Central Statistics Office has revised the base year of National Accounts from 2004-05 to 2011-12. GDP at factor cost is no longer relevant in the New Series as per the international practices. Industry-wise estimates have been presented as Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices, while GDP at market prices of old series has been referred as GDP in new series.

    Accordingly, necessary changes have been made in relevant tables. Some previous years indicators based on National Accounts (prior to 2011-12) at old base year (2004-05) have been provided below each of these tables (Table 1-A to 4-A , 8-A & 9-A) for ready reference, though, these are not comparable due to change in concepts in new series.
