Kevin V. Cummings has spent over 20 years establishing himself as one of the most versatile and powerful sources in Modern R&B, Gospel, and Soul Music. He has been referenced by some as the “Golden Boy” for his golden tracks, golden lyrics, and golden personality to match. Kevin was born to exceed the music industry’s demand for uniqueness. Born in the suburbs of North Carolina, he was surrounded by musical influences including a left handed father who played the bass upside down, a piano play-ing mother, and two singing sisters.

Kevin began his musical career at an early age playing the drums, piano, organ, and guitar for various church choirs. His roots can be traced back to St. Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Greensboro, NC, where he served as a musician. Even as a teenager, this multi-instrumentalist had a magical way of using musical embellishments to transform a song. His musical influ-ences range anywhere from Micheal Jackson to Marvin Winans. To help cultivate an even greater understanding of the power of music, Kevin began to glean from a host of mentors such as Min. Bernard Florence & Pas. Keith Moncrief. In 1996, he joined the PowerPower House of Deliverance Garden Cathedral, under the leadership of Bishop W.L. Washington, as the Minister of Music. He uses this platform as a means of instructing individuals on how to use music as a form of worship and ministry. Kevin’s under-standing of how music moves the spirit of God makes him one of the most effective Praise & Worship leaders in the country. He has held seminars and workshops on the origin of music and its place in the church. His vocal technique and training classes have been known to make the most inexperienced singer sound like a seasoned professional. Kevin is not only a teacher of music, but can rightly divide and expound on the word of God. His teachings on Levitical Order and Davidic Worship serve as a means of transforming singers into ministers. It is his heart’s desire to see minstrels operating under the anointing that destroys yokes and sets the captives free.

Kevin’s passion for music inspired him to start his own production company, Dream City Music Group, Inc. Dream City’s vision is clear and direct – to enhance the industry with sweet harmonies, soul-stirring lyrics and rejuvenating rhythms. Kevin’s trademark is to intertwine different genres of music together by using a variety of singing styles to create a sound that is emotionally engulfing. His lyrical prowess has earned him respect from both gospel and secular artists. Kevin has a diverse portfolio of work affiliations with artist such as Dave Hollister, Marvin Sapp, Fantasia Barrino, Boyz II Men, & Juanita Bynum. He has also written and pro-ducedduced for several local and unsigned acts. Kevin’s work has afforded him the opportunity to perform in concerts and productions all over the world, including international tours in European countries such as Italy, Austria, & Switzerland. Kevin’s experience in both sacred and secular music has made him a relative figure in the music industry. He understands the powerful influence music has in today’s society, while recognizing his responsibility to be a caveat for positive change. His music does not only serve as medicine to the soul but the heartbeat to a dying generation.

In August of 2008, Kevin released his debut project, The Christ Factor, along with Bishop W.L. Washington & the Power House of Deliverance Cathedral Choir. Kevin’s work continues to demonstrate and speak of his commitment to the call of God on his life. As he embraces the total will of God, he branches out to other areas of ministry seeking to be a blessing to the entire body of Christ. Kevin credits his wife, Katrice, and his sons, Kai & Kari, as his continuous sources of strength and motivation.
