The basic principle of ayurveda rests on the perfect balance of the three Dosha’s or elemental substances in a human body ie : Vata, Pitha & Kapha. Diagnosis is an eight pronged approach and treatments are prescribed to bring about a balance in the body. Medicines are generally plant based and few are animal based. It is a ritual with traditional Indians to undergo a sukhachikilsa or rejuvenation therapy for 7 days at the onset of the monsoons in June every year.
