This State Cost Share Practice is initiated when a participant signs up for a CAP-NMP under EQIP-MRBI.

KY DOC will accept continuous applications for this practice.

Practice Must follow NRCS Specifications and Nutrient Management 590, MRBI – Conservation Practice Job Sheet for Precision Farming in Kentucky.

MRBI2 Soil Quality / Health Incentive

This State Cost Share Practice is initiated when a participant is approved for Soil Quality Cover Crop under EQIP-MRBI.

KY DOC will accept continuous applications for this practice.

Practice Must follow NRCS Specifications and Cover Crop Job Sheet 340a, Soil Quality – Conventional or Organic , Cereal Rye / High Biomass / Roll Down

Payment Rate is currently being developed

Maximum Payment: $20,000

KY Agriculture Water Quality ActWhat is the Agriculture Water Quality Act:

The Ag water Quality Act was passed by the Kentucky General Assembly in 1994. The act protects surface and groundwater resources from pollution from agriculture and silviculture practices.

Who is affected?The act effects all landowners with 10 or more contiguous acres

and who conduct agriculture or silvicluture operations on their land.

What must be implemented?All landowners/land users with 10 or more acres of land that is

used for agriculture or silviculture operations must develop and implement a water quality plan based on guidance from the Kentucky Agriculture Water Quality Plan.

KY Agriculture Water Quality PlanAn interactive online tool is available at

www.ca.uky.edu/awqa to help landowners decide which best management practices (BMPs) are needed

for their farm.
