• Each LCSP would also develop local add-on’s for additional services to meet local needs

• Develop project plan and project group

• Undertake research of national approach to commissioning Connexions services

• Attend each LCSP or meet with each LCSP Manager to hear their voice and vision

• Meet with Youth Service, Youth Offending Team, DAAT, and key 14-19 providers to hear their voice and vision

• Seek the views of young people to identify their levels of satisfaction with the service – Connexions feedback information – NFER survey – Targeted Youth Support consultation (April to Dec ‘08)– Kent’s Connexions survey (Sept ’08 to April ‘09) – in 2nd Qtr

• Use these discussions and these views to identify whether the current service specification and/or service delivery requires reviewing

• Undertake tendering process – tendering open for 4 to 6 weeks– possibly for a 3 year contract (with an optional extension of 2

years)

Longer-term considerations

• New service will need to take account of:

– By 2013 all young people will be in full-time education, or part-time education or training up to 18

– 25% of funding for young people’s positive activities devolved by 2018
