‘No Where is far in a

TR!’

May saw KVG members at 3events, Basingstoke, HungerfordArcade and Burghclere.

Basingstoke was the bestattended and the sun shonestrongly on many gleaming classicas well as our members cars.

Hungerford and Burghclere were smaller but friendly shows where the public could enjoy classics plus shopping or local fetes

TR5 or TR250 DVLA debate“Over twenty-five years ago I was first in contact withthe DVLA about this problem, which goes back almost asfar as to when the first TR250 was re-imported.” Roger Ferris – TR5/250 Registrar

There are two problems, onemore severe than the other:

1. Firstly owners who stick TR5badges on TR250’s.

2. TR250’s that have beenRegistered by the DVLA asTR5’s.

My Pride and Joy at Thatcham Classic Show, Henwick, Thatcham

Our 'My Pride & Joy' contest from ClubNight and use it to promote the Club andTR's to the public, this year we will holdit at this event, the organiser’s haveagreed to keep an area for us to be ableto park as a Group so we need to givethem numbers, so please let me know assoon as possible.In addition to the usual judging, weintend to have a Public vote too, wherevisitors can vote for the car, they wouldmost like to take home and the prizebeing to have a short ride in that carfrom the show ground, so please beprepared to do this if you win. Thejudging will take place between 12:00and 14:00, Public votes to be in by14:30.

Thames Traditional Boat Festival

21st July 2019

For our July Mid-Monthly, wehave arranged a visit to ThamesTraditional Boat Festival on the21st July which also has anassociated Vintage & ClassicVehicle exhibition, the Vintage &Classic Car display area is withinthe Festival site with mostvehicles displayed in the topmeadow (on entry you will seethe display area to the right).

We have been told by theorganisers, KVG will be mostwelcome and we can fly clubbanner in cordoned off dedicateddisplay area. Normally limited tocars pre-1969, it has beenconfirmed later TRs being will beof 'special interest' including TR7& TR8's also welcomed.

The Inter-club Triumph Weekend 2019

The venue already plays host to a numberof similar meets for classic car and caravanclubs throughout the year and is ideallysituated within a short walk from thehistoric town centre. There will be manyof the favourite features of the TRInternational Weekend, plus invited carclubs and guided tours of the city andsurrounding countryside.

The weekend will also form the focal pointfor one of the many celebrations plannedthroughout the year for the anniversary of50 years since the Triumph TR6 went onsale.

There is camping on site centre of theRacecourse or the Stratford RacecourseTouring Park with better facilities which ison the outside of the course or local B&B,why not try AirBnB to book, its good value.
