Due to circumstances, GRSA, Racing Tasmania and the Northern Territory who were on the linked GRVIC system have joined the OzChase system. OzChase currently operates as a joint venture between RWWA and GRNSW with linked data for all person and registration details. The three States joining OzChase will utilise the system already in place for persons and registrations and should be a smooth transition. From a racing, grading and form fields perspective the three States have developed new systems which we have been testing with the assistance of RWWA which will hopefully provide similar details to what participants are used to. To minimise the cost to the Industry the three States joining OzChase have had to make accommodations as not to delay the project which means much of the administrative process done by our staff including grading, race results, breeders bonuses and prizemoney transfers will be done manually and some of the website applications available such as photo finishes, video’s and highly detailed racing information will not be available in the short term. Other things that will change include the abolishment of Greyhound Racing Certificates to be replaced by Cards the same as Victoria and NSW currently have. New licence cards for participants which will mean a change to your licence number at the next renewal (31st March 2013 currently, however, this date is being considered to move back to 30th June 2013). The grading process will be even more manual for our grader and also with a new system it is important that the grades of greyhounds are correct so more checking is required. Due to the move away from Victoria, Coursing fields will also be an even more manual process as we have not been able to access this information from Victoria to assist with our fields. The dates to remember and what you need to do……………………………….. The most important date is Friday 22nd June at 2.30pm because this is when the data migration process from GRVIC to OzChase will start and will continue over the weekend with the “Go Live” date being Monday 25th June. Nominations for the Angle Park meeting on Thursday 28th June have been brought forward to 9.00am Friday 22nd June to ensure that our main night of racing is finalised before the data migration. You will still be able to nominate online as per normal for this meeting. The Thursday meeting and Wednesday 27th June will be done asap on the Friday prior to the 2.30pm cut off time. Nominations for Gawler on Friday 29th June have been moved to 9.00am on Tuesday 26th June to close on the same day as Port Augusta Saturday 30th June and Mount Gambier on Sunday 1st July.

This will give GRSA time on the Monday to ensure a smooth transition of data. Trainers will not be able to nominate for these meetings through the GRVIC online nomination process. The new OzChase details should be available and working and I will be writing to these trainers this week to provide log in details. However I would recommend that trainers lodge their nominations prior to these dates the old fashioned way by manually lodging a normal multi nom form or faxing one in, just to make sure there are no problems. At time of nominating, whether online or by hard copy, trainers will be required to advise if the greyhound last raced Interstate. This is a requirement as GRSA staff will be required to upload Interstate form and should we not be advised of the Interstate performance, a grading error may occur. I would recommend that if you have any Breeding forms, Namings, Licenses or EFT Prizemoney forms to be lodged that you do it prior to this date to ensure all records are up to date prior to the data migration. Please allow for extra time after this date for these forms to be processed. If you wish to download any fields or form from the GRSA website for meetings up to Thursday 28th June that you do so prior to the data migration as you will not be able to utilise this over the weekend.

STAYERSTAYERSTAYERSTAYER’’’’S CUP FINAL TONIGHTS CUP FINAL TONIGHTS CUP FINAL TONIGHTS CUP FINAL TONIGHT We saw two very exciting heats of the Stayer’s Cup last week with the Troy Murray trained combination of Kalden Mayhem and Kalden Petroni both victorious however they didn’t have it all their own way. In the first heat it developed into a match race between Kalden Mayhem and the Shaun Matcott trained Jessenia Bale. In a small field of six Jessenia Bale broke away with a big lead with Kalden Mayhem moving to second mid race and giving chase. Over the concluding stages the oncourse patrons witnessed a stirring finish with Kalden Mayhem getting the bob in right on the line in a quick 43.46 after flying home to grab Jessenia Bale by a head with Tiggerlong Bliss for Mike Giniotis a distant third, 11 lengths away.

In the second heat it was a group of three who battled out the major prize with Miss Woods for Gino Grgurovic leading, Kalden Petroni sitting second and Mimicking for Kim Johnstone in third place for much of the race. Turning for home it was anyone’s race with Kalden Petroni running home a little too strongly for Mimicking in 43.77 who looks a genuine improver since coming from Victoria and Miss Woods who held on nicely for third. The box draw for the final has made the race even more interesting with pre post favourites Kalden Mayhem and Jessenia Bale drawing right next to each other in 3 and 4. If Jessenia Bale can lead and pinch a break then it might be too hard for the likes of Kalden Mayhem and Kalden Petroni to come from a long way back in a quality field and claim the first prize. However if the likes of Miss Woods or even Mimicking who looks a top chance after drawing the red could lead then who knows what the result could be. The Stayer’s Cup Final will be race 8 tonight due to start at 9.11pm (SA time) to be run over the 731m for total prizemoney of $7,000. As an added bonus for punters TattsBet have provided a $5,000 trifecta jackpot on tonight’s final so have a crack at picking the first three past the post and you could be in the money.

THREE IN A ROW FOR THE THREE IN A ROW FOR THE THREE IN A ROW FOR THE THREE IN A ROW FOR THE QUADDIE CLUB QUADDIE CLUB QUADDIE CLUB QUADDIE CLUB Another good result last week with a dividend back to the Quaddie Club ticket holders of $8.00. The worst result was going to be $6.00 and the best result was $20.00 so to get $8.00 back good effort. The last three weeks we have returned $5.00, $27.00 and now $8.00 for a $10 investment which means if had you been involved over the last three weeks you would have a 30% return on your money.

Ray Fewings who is the normal MC on race nights runs the Quaddie Club and has provided plenty of excitement over the last few weeks. He is now three from three and Ray will also try and factor in any Jackpot money to increase the returns to those patrons where a trifecta or exacta may be included in the Quaddie investment. Make sure you get on course this week and have another crack at the big money in the GRSA Quaddie Club.

Last week’s heat winners Miata (41.89), He Knows Uno (42.02) and Witch On Wheels (42.21) all went terrific however they will all be chasing Miata who yet again looks the red hot favourite and will be looking for Group 1 redemption after her unlucky third in the recent Sandown Cup. The final will be race 8 tonight to be run at 8.38pm (SA time). TattsBet have plenty of jackpots on offer for the punters with a $28,421 trifecta jackpot on the Gold Cup along with a $10,000 first 4 jackpot on the Flying Amy Classic which is the other feature on the program to be run as race 6 due to start at 7.55pm (SA time). TRAINERS CAR PARKTRAINERS CAR PARKTRAINERS CAR PARKTRAINERS CAR PARK There was a minor incident last Wednesday when a person gained access to an unlocked trainer’s car looking for money. They did not seem to be stealing the vehicle they were looking for valuables or money. I would remind trainers and patrons to lock their vehicles at all times while on course providing an added deterrent for anyone looking to gain access. GRSA will ensure that the same procedure is used for Wednesday’s as is used for Monday’s and Thursday nights with the trainers car park gate closed after kennelling.

This disadvantages those people who have paid their membership in good faith to their club. GRSA will be tightening up this process for discounts and have a list of current members available to be checked by staff upon payment at both the Angle Park and Gawler offices. KISS OF DEATHKISS OF DEATHKISS OF DEATHKISS OF DEATH

Well it didn’t get any easier this week but we did back more winners than last week. However the winners were at the Greyhounds FORGET the football side of things!! Tonight’s 11 event programme looks more than handy and we should end the night on the right side of the ledger. Race 1 number 1, the Ray Murray trained Kalden Komoto should lead and win in this grade 4 event. He has been racing in open company of late and the draw suits the Premier Fantasy chaser. Load up on the Matty Payne trained sprinter in Ritza Retreat in race 4. He has a good turn of early pace and looks the one to beat. The main dangers look to be Kihael Canon and Gaylah Bale for the placings.

The last of the specials is Pints Delight. He dead set doesn’t like me tipping him and he surely must read the papers in his kennels on a Thursday morning. Last week he jumped straight to the front and led the field a merry dance and won in a BON 29.89, he should back up with another win. Best Each Way- Full Embargo for Ken McAuley in race 9. Has a good turn of early pace and a win wouldn’t surprise. Best Roughie - We will have to wait until race 11 and put the kiss of death on Ken McAuley. Have a dollar or two on Shy Guy Beach. He finds a heap of trouble in his races but this is a very open event.

THE STAYERTHE STAYERTHE STAYERTHE STAYER’’’’S CUP FINALS CUP FINALS CUP FINALS CUP FINAL Troy Murray looks to have the two Favourites in tonight’s final but I am looking at a front running stayer in Jessenia Bale for leading trainer Shaun Matcott. She looks the leader and only needs them to bunch up behind her to pinch this race. With 5 wins and 4 placings from her 9 runs over the 731m she looks a big chance. The obvious main dangers are Kalden Mayhem who will be rattling home late and kennel mate Kalden Petroni who should possie up very close.

Ray Burgess made his trip from Port Pirie a welcome one when he went home with 4 winners – Rise A Knight, Pure Flash, Burrendong Way and Long Board. Black and Blue returned to the winner’s circle for Damien Mills and ran the best of day in 15.06.
