WELCOME Welcome to Castle Drive for this afternoons West Lancashire League Division Two game against Thornton Cleveley Reserves. The Club would like to welcome the players, officials and supporters of Thornton Cleveleys to Castle Drive for this afternoon’s game. It’s been an interesting start for Kendal United, on Saturday United travelled to Euxton Villa Reserves and picked up a hard fought 1-0 win which was a good way to start life in West Lancashire League Division Two. However on Monday Night Kendal lost 3-1 to Dalton United in what was the team’s first home league game of the season. Missed chances and bad defending cost the side against a resilient opponent. However despite the defeat the team’s performance was good where they showed plenty of positives and while results are very important the squad can only build on the good things in which they did the other night. I have to say that there were a lot of people down watching the game on Monday Night, I can’t remember seeing Castle Drive full with so many people, let’s hope that level of support continues as the season goes on. Today promises to be as always another difficult game against a Thornton Cleveley Reserve Team that have suffered mixed results in their opening two games. On Saturday they lost 2-1 at home to Millom before bouncing back on Monday Night with a 2-0 win at Euxton Villa Reserves. After this afternoon’s game Kendal United travel to Furness Cavaliers on Monday Night before hosting Ladybridge the following Saturday. We hope you enjoy this afternoon’s game! MATCH REPORT:

KENDAL UNITED 1 V DALTON UNITED 3

Kendal United lost 3-1 to Dalton United in West Lancashire League Division Two. The game that was watched by a big crowd provided plenty of action, however Kendal were left to rue a lot of missed opportunities, while bad defending also cost the team on a frustrating night at Castle Drive.

United who went into the game on the back of their 1-0 win at Euxton Villa Reserves fell behind after just six minutes when Scott Mc Cabe found time and space in the box to finish from close range.

Kendal created plenty of opportunities with Danny Craig and Sam Hunter going close, however good goalkeeping by the Dalton United shot stopper and mis timed finishing kept Kendal United behind.

United continued to press, and played good attacking football while Dalton had to do a lot of defending. However Kendal equalised on the 39th minute when Greg Pearce finished from close range after the ball was kept alive in the penalty area.

In the second half Kendal started well and forced Dalton onto the back foot, , however Dalton went 2-1 up on the 63rd minute when a ball into the box was headed into the top right hand corner by Steve Harkin.

Dalton made it 3-1 two minutes later when a defensive lapse saw Gareth Jones round the goalkeeper before finishing the ball into the net.
