Tena koutou katoa As you will know, parent-teacher conferences are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday next week. The conferences are 15 minutes in duration and the details for booking them are included in this Newsletter. School will finish at 2pm on both parent-teacher interview days. One of the reasons for a conference time of 15 minutes is to allow students from Year 5 and upwards to participate in the conferences with their parents. Involving the children is a really important aspect of the reporting process as they are involved in conversations about their progress, achievement and next steps in their learning. Sharing this information with their parents and their teachers plays an important part in children recognising that they are also responsible for, and can make decisions about, their learning. For Years 5 to 8 we believe it is essential that your children participate. Please don’t let them talk you out of it! Your children will receive their Interim (Term 1) Report on Friday. Please bring this report to the Parent-Teacher Conference next week. SCHOOL TOUR GUIDES After a formal application process, eight Year 8 students have been selected as School Tour Guides. Our guides’ job description includes: Meet visitors confidently by knowing who they are and the purpose of their visit. Introduce yourself and say who you are and what your role will be for the time of their visit. Be able to speak casually as well as formally and have ‘small talk’ questions you could ask as part of your conversation with visitors. Communicate with the people on the school staff who are coordinating the visit to ensure you have all the information you need: names, length of time they are visiting, your role on the day. Be prepared to answer questions relevant to the purpose of the school visit.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

3pm afterschool care

We are a children’s programme centre, catering for 5-13 year olds, providing for before &

Afterschool Care, and also specialising in an exciting holiday programme.

Our Centre is a designated building for the programmes use , situated alongside Connect

Church (Formally The meadows Church) at 1 Realm Drive in Paraparaumu . With fully carpeted

rooms , and modern surroundings with lots of colour , help to create an amazing place and

atmosphere for the children to explore their own potentials .As they develop and grow , we also

provide a junior leadership programme for the 10 + group , for those that which to expand on

their learning and pass on to younger people .

Before-school is becoming increasingly popular with parents dropping off from 6.45 am in

the morning, allowing the early start for travelling into the city. We deliver the children to school

at 8.30 am onwards.

Afterschool Care is where we collect your children from the school in one of our fleet of 5

modern vans, bringing them to the Centre, providing a scrumptious afternoon tea, and then

provide an exciting fun packed programme for the afternoon, until they are picked up either by

the parent or a contact person of your choosing. During the course of the afternoon, we are able

to provide homework supervision, transportation to activities such as dance, sports etc.

Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment, where children can learn to respect

one another, within an experienced, successful and stable business of 12 years on the Kapiti

Coast.

To secure a place on our roll, check out our website on www.3pm.co.nz, send us a web

enquiry and we can then assist you with any enquiry you may have.
