I would like to ask you all a question?

Does anyone know what Demand Side Response is?

Th Energy Triangle

It’s dead simple! The national grid pays companies to reduce there Energy consumption at times of

peak demand

£200,000

Businesses are earning up 1 million pounds a year.

Right Now!

£160,000Well - some are.

£160,000

However surprisingly some are not!

£128,000

96% of UK companies are Not Taking advantage of the financial rewards they are entitled to from

the National Grid

£128,000

Yet, a recent poll in the Energyst reports that 79 % want to take part. So what’s stopping them?

£100,000

The same survey explains the catch!

£100,000

Let me tell you the real reason Why!

£100,000

It’s fiendishly difficult to understand.

Having been on many presentations involving demand

side response.

There is so much technical information to get your head

around:

Frequency response, Power Responsive, Non-BM Balancing

Services [shrug], STOR, STOR Runway, Turn up, Turn Down, TA

(Triad Avoidance), TA (Transitional arrangements), TA Auctions.

Who can possibly keep up with all of this?

This is where our team come in: they understand the details of Demand Side Response so our

customers don’t have to.

And more importantly so I don’t have to!

My focus is on the 3rd element that Kit and Rachael spoke

about.

The first thing the team does is to collect data.

The second is to use this information to manage the

customer’s energy portfolio.

The third - the end result - is to report the savings we’ve made.

At this point you’re probably wondering: how much?

Well, it varies from customer to customer, but in the last year the

team has delivered savings of between 12 and 44%.

And what’s more all of the team - Mick, Dan, Rachael, Kit,

Sam, Graham and everyone back at the office

(although Kit, not David Brent) work hard every day to

save our customers even more.

And I’d like to end by thanking them for that.
