Ken Dubrowski SketchbookI sketch a lot for my job. I tend to draw on any loose scrap paper I can find which drives my wife crazy. On any given day I have reams of scrap paper all over my drawing table and floor. In time, I have collected enough sketches to fill many boxes.

This collection is of my favorite and some of my less successful sketches.

I put this book together mostly to show the thought process that goes into an illustration and to give the viewer some history about the work. But really it gives me a chance to see them in a new way as some type of collection.

Some of these sketches did indeed became the illustration as it appeared in a magazine. Some thankfully never saw the light of day and some I wish were chosen over the one that went to press. After twenty years of doing this as a career, the selection seems entirely subjective.

But now, I get a chance to present them in a whole new light.

I just liked these as sketches when I did them, so they get included.
