Protect your handsOur hands are highly useful in our jobs, but there are many dangerous conditions in theworkplace that may cause them injury. Be on the lookout for:

• Sharp edges

• Pinch points

• Protruding objects

• Splinters

Consider these necessary precautions to reduce the risk of hand injuries:

• Always wear required work gloves.

• Make sure all energy (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) is properly locked out before reaching into a machine.

• Check doorways and aisles to ensure proper clearance when moving loads.

• Make sure machines are guarded at all times.

• Do not wear rings or wedding bands when working with machinery.

• Do not pick up broken glass or spilled machine parts with your bare hands.
