St Andrew’s Church Wall

In our last newsletter we announced thatwork was needed on the wall of thechurchyard and that structural engineers hadbeen consulted. The engineers have reportedthat some of the stones and bricks that haveworn away need replacing and most of thewall needs repointing. They have specifiedthe areas needing attention and provideddetailed instructions in how the work is to becarried out in order to comply with listedbuilding status. Three contractors specializingin restorative work to listed buildings will beasked to quote.

The photo shows an area of wall requiringattention.

In the meantime the gatesremain closed. The Parish Council apologisesfor this continued inconvenience that it iscausing local residents and will endeavor toresolve the matter as soon as possible.
