description

Computer tablets have become increasingly popular devices in both home and business. But statistics show that the most common uses for these devices are watching movies, playing games, browsing the internet and as a companion device when watching television. Richard has been fascinated with portable computing since he started developing location-based games using the GPS functionality of mobile phones. Since then, he has become a huge fan of tablets and see them as a game-changer in everything from education to care for the elderly. In this talk Richard will discuss some of the work being done at LocoMatrix: Invisible Buildings - virtual archaeology / Postcardie - a social network for the elderly, and the Badgelaureate - education for the 21st century. Finally, despite his huge fondness for tablets, Richard will also predict their early demise!
