Fleet Foxes - Mykonos
Fleet Foxes are an indie folk band that was formed in Seattle,
Washington; they rose to prominence in 2008. The band consists
of Robin Pecknold, Skyler Skjelset, Casey Wescott, Christian Wargo
and Morgan Henderson. Musicians, including Neil Young and Bob
Dylan, were said to be chief inspirations behind their practice,
partially on account of their profound lyrics. This is apparent as
their craft contains beautifully intricate and poetic tenors.
Consequently, the typical audience of this band are likely to be
intellectual adults as they can decode the meaning of the lyrics.
The song Mykonos features on their first studio album, Fleet
Foxes, and the video was directed by Sean Pecknold, an
established folk music video director. The name of the song refers
to a Greek Island, denoting adventure, as it is a foreign
destination. Listening to the song, the rhythm exudes a poignant
sense, rendering it relatable, therefore it’s effortlessly interesting.
