STRATEGIC GOAL 1: By 2015, KCS will achieve a
graduation rate of at least 80% and will have 90% or more of our
students proficient in all subjects.
Needs Assessment• Establish a culture in which high school graduation is the minimum expectation.
Parent University• Enhance long-range planning for students.
• Enhance student involvement in extra-curricular clubs and activities.
•Provide modified graduation requirement options.
• Establish early identification and intervention for at-risk students.
STRATEGIC GOAL 3: KCS will continue to attract, employ, and retain highly
qualified and informed staff who are motivated to affect
long-term achievement.
1. Improve mentoring•Meet as mentors 1-2 times throughout the year for updates and/or support. (Site Coordinator)
•Designate thirty minutes per week as mentor/mentee time for face to face contact.

planning for all K-4 teachers from 3:30 – 5:00 for schools to collaboratively plan across the system by subject and grade, including ALL K-4 teachers: Regular, EC, ESL, AIG, and Special Areas. As this goal is implemented, our additional goal is for vertical alignment between all subjects in K-12.

STRATEGIC GOAL 4:
KCS will provide adequate services for LEP/EC/At-Risk Students so that they can
exceed State expectations.

• Improve collaboration betweenschool and parents –hold at least one Hispanic
/international family night annually at each school
• Create a Welcome Center at A.L. Brown High School in the Bio-Tech wing
• Create a professional development team to determine training needs.
