The elegant longboards in Harbour Oak (8468) design absorb the history of the pro-perty and revitalise it with a modern, homely atmosphere.

What started off as a dark and dingy old attic has been changed beyond recognition. Because thanks to the use of modern extra-long Krono Original® floor panels, the space has undergone a miraculous transformation. Five simple steps to a new living environment. Here’s how:1. Underlay with 22dB (XPS5.0) sound insulation ensures that the sheer delight of the occupants with their new living space does not impinge on the peace and quiet of the people in the room below. It also compensates for irregularities in the subfloor of up to 4mm. (NB: As the subfloor is made of wood, a

vapour barrier should not be used.) 2. In rooms that exceed eight metres in length, an expansion joint must be created in the middle. Consistent with the dark colouring, this should be in the form of a 34mm stainless steel threshold strip from the profes-sional parts list (91221). Because of its two-part design consisting of an upper and a lower bar, installation is straightforward and it allows the mate-rial to expand and contract naturally. 3. The expansion joint around the fireplace was concealed behind an elegant skirting board which echoes the tone and decor of the floor. Using matching clips (50510), the attachment of the skirting is cleverly

concealed. 4. Where the boards have been trimmed at an angle or around door frames, the joints can be filled with add2 acrylic sealer. 5. Now all that remains is to sweep the new floor clean with a fine broom. This is also the right time to apply the first coat of the add2 (90411) floor care product, which is ideal for keeping the floor in top condition. This tried-and-tested cleaning agent has been specially formulated to bring the best out of high-quality Krono Original® floors. It prevents the accumulation of dirt, protects the edges and ensures that the room continues to smell wonderful.

Anti-slip classes Safety is something we put great emphasis on. Classification in

anti-slip classes (R9 and R10) has been achieved through specially developed surface structures, which address the requirements for floor coverings in the workplace and commercial areas where a high risk of slipping is present.

A.B.C. Anti Bacterial Coating We know that keeping your floor as clean as possible will be

important to you and that means minimising the risk from germs. We can’t see germs, but we all know the problems they can cause if left unchecked. Allergies can be aggravated and illness can result, which is why Krono Original® has introduced A.B.C., Anti Bacterial Coating that does not allow for germs to grow on your flooring. Germs can be present on a floor from many sources such as shoes, spills or animals etc, but Krono Original® A.B.C. Due to the extremely low thermal resistance, practically no effect on the time taken for underfloor heating to heat up. Integrated moisture protection with sd > 200 m.

WOOD 5.0

This insulation panel is made from wood fibres and is especially suitable for thermal insulation. But is unsuitable for rooms with underfloor heating. Because of its high wood content, a PE foil must be laid underneath it for moisture protection.

XPS 5.0

5 mm thick panels from extruded polystyrol. Excellent insulating properties and high impact noise reduction. Levels uneven patches of up to 4 mm.
